12z Euro bringing the weekend system a lot closer to frozen even down to the coastal plain in NNE, That's a colder run.

Just catching up on AMWX. Wow, this thread got off track. Anyway looks like a close near miss for us in North Dendriteland. for some accumulating snow. If that Maine low could get going a bit further SW I would be in business. Trees still have about 75% of their leaves so even 4" of glop would give me some issues.
Then there is this weekend. Couple of days ago it looked like a nice monster storm. Now the GFS/Euro have a 990 something slowly coming up the coast. 18Z GFS is the perfect track for me, elbow of the Cape. Probably a month later I would be in business.
Carry on.....
Definitely not sorted out on the weekend storm, thou I wonder if any scenario could lock in cold anywhere, without a great cold source
Maybe 2K Hunter Mtn Magic I’m hoping
That first redeveloper looks to have potential in snow mobile land Maine

Tip is right about one thing, measuring as close to the end of the snowfall as possible is ideal (and recommended by the way).
But if you think about this all in an impact sense, what makes more sense: plows waiting until the snow stops and removing snow, or plows nearly continuously keeping roads clear? I would argue a plow operator is much closer to observing the 6 hourly snowfall amounts than the 24 hourly.
It's one thing we've discussed internally about the 6" in 12 hours vs 9" in 24 hours warning criteria. If anything the lighter, longer duration 9" in 24 hours is more impactful because road crews are out longer.
Where talking about amount of snow that fell and accumulated.

I actually got close to 6" in that 90 or so under 35dBZ returns , but I found it so hard to believe (4"/hr!?!??!) that I rounded down to 4.5". Of course when I post totals, I usually caveat "unofficial".
That Was for real. Saw the same thing between 515 and 7pm. Close to 7" in N.Andover . Was amazing

2 feet everywhere
Even near Montpelier lol crazy

I believe about 10-15 towns could have recorded 30" yesterday if they properly cleared every 6 hours.
Anytown that recorded 23"-24" w /o clearing is in the running. I watch the radar like a hawk. That could include plenty of towns in nh and Maine as well.
My point is I believe Ray and a number of folks sw w nw and well ne (of him).could lay claim to 30".

My sister in Burrillville, RI reported 2 feet...might be more.
Around 12.5” here but really compacted as the day went on...cement underneath. One of the suckyiest storms to clear...
They were demolished out there
If there was someone cleaning a board there every 6 hrs...30".
Look at a 12 hr radar loop
Its really cool

I can buy 26" in w. Ct death band. That photo was awesome.
Ludicrous that nws throws out a 23" in Framingham. I guess they didn't forecast enough out there?
My guess is 25" is common out buy sw side of 495 (Milford) over to pike/495
