Hi everyone. I'm usually in the MA forum but I moved to the East Side of Providence in December. 2" here - more than I've seen in DC for a couple years!

Huh. Rain sleet mix in Arlington. Didn't expect anything frozen at 10 PM.

There are reds right under me which must be sleet but I've yet to see or hear any yet. 0.6" and SN.

Mix line was advancing into DC/Arlington but has retreated the past couple frames. Hope

Don't know what it will take for the mixing line to hold off for at least another hour but I'm hoping it can happen.. -SN and a festive dusting in N Arlington.

Sitting under a MEGA DEATHBAND in Arlington!! Just kidding, though it is lightly snowing again and it’s beautiful. 10.3”, my fifth highest snow total of the 2010s.

Looks like the 10-12” was mostly confined to between 66 and 70, with a localized jackpot of 12-14” in eastern Montgomery county. Totals slowly dropped off to the south and east, with a general 6-10”. North, the cutoff was sharper, as our posters from northern Carroll and Baltimore counties have lamented, with 3-6” there quickly increasing as you moved south.

There’s a small space between the bottom of the ruler and the 0 mark that’s about 0.2 inches long. Is it improper of me to adjust for that?

Realized I had to add 0.2 inches to every measurement because of my ruler design, so I revised my total to 10.2” with about 9.7” actually on the ground.

Seems like there’s a lot of dry air in NOVA while Maryland is getting crushed. 9.3” and fringed in N Arlington. Congrats Moco on the 15”.

Very, very cool phenomenon happening that should be of interest to snow enthusiasts. At 1 PM, it was pretty bright with temperatures a little below freezing 31.6 and moderate to heavy snow in the band, it struggled to accumulate on the road. Now at 2:30, with moderate snow and temperatures actually rising to 32, snow is accumulating on the road because of the loss in solar radiation in the past hour.

Persistent area of subsidence in South Arlington and Alexandria has led to a good amount of melting there.
