When was that year that the Triangle had a snow storm in January every Wednesday? It looks like we are stuck in a pattern to get a winter threat every weekend now.

I think when I changed my avatar to screaming Brick is when the mojo changed for good.

I am pretty confident we will be NEAR 3 inches and it will be a high impact snow with temps, so yea, I do actually think a warning is warranted
I think 3 to 5 for a large portion of NC is a safe bet.

I wouldn't be surprised to see RAH upgrade Wake to a WSW later. It might be one of those as the situation unfolds things.

I know it can’t be taken verbatim but I feel like we get a pretty good thump tonight based on the NAM here in Franklin County. I’m about 3 miles east of Youngsville. Figure maybe we can squeeze out a solid 3-5 here.
That's what I'm thinking, too. 3 should be on the low end here.

I'd be shocked to see more than 3" anywhere in Wake. Trust me, I'm pulling for it, but based on climatology and situations like this in the past, I agree with RAH's statement about the dry air this far back and the extent of the western precip shield.
I'm going 1-3" across Wake, with most areas 1-2". Still a great snow!
I still think 3 to 5 north of Raleigh and 6 to 8 into NE NC and SE VA is good.

NAM is looking good.

GFS with an even better run.
And now snow has covered the grass and tops of the cars here.

The back and forth with the models the last 48 hours and so close to zero hour has been ridiculous.

NAM go boom.

Looks like the NAM might finally be getting a clue.

Oh, also it's been snowing here for almost an hour now. Starting to pick up the intensity.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone around Wake County and RDU area wake up with a inch or inch and a half of snow tomorrow morning.
Thank you.

Looked like Mike Maze was leaning more toward the NAM. Will be interesting to see if he adjusts.
They always go with the worse looking one and adjust up if they need to. That way they can't bust.

I think Wake eastward is good for 3 to 5, and NE NC and SE VA 6 to 8.

That GFS solution would be insane. But I do think it did the best with latching on to our storm today early and better overall than the Euro.
