  1. Peak heat out here was not 3:30, more so 1:30 to 2:30. Island peaks and cools before areas further west.
  2. It makes complete sense...the wind was coming from the east and downsloping.
  3. Sea breeze blowing nicely now, temp down to 95/77
  4. Wonder if LGA can get 100, they are usually good for a 4 pm bump...but thats usually in July/August, may be too early in the season for that with a SW flow
  5. Yea, my sensor is over grass and is reading 97/79. This seabreeze is crap. FRG jumped to 91/74 behind it, ISP closing in on 90...so i dont think we get much relief
  6. 98/71 at Newark, that is NASTY
  7. Same, temp holding at 97 for now, my dew is reading 79
  8. 73 on Fire Island...actually chilly on the beach, incredible.
  9. Thanks Don, so Newark will get to 2nd on the list. 8 95 degree days already is absurd.
  10. 97 here now...but looks like seabreeze front has developed and is moving north of the LIE, so this may be it, then we settle into low 90s with even worse dews
  11. There is no wind at all and clear skies. This is high end stuff here. If the sea breeze holds off maybe we hit 100
  12. Yup. This area is a bit more developed and low lying. I am glad my neighbor @STORMANLI confirms my numbers.
  13. 96 here and surrounding PWS...
  14. Usually we don’t get this type of sustained heat in June, so these cool offs are just regression to normal before we bake again. newark will have 16 90 degree days by July 1…must be a record. @donsutherland1
  15. For whatever reason my immediate local area roasts, the local PWS confirm my numbers. We are in a more developed area in a bit of a valley. Too bad I can’t post the image
  16. I don’t think that impacts the ASOS sights. Most of the new buildings are “green” and as for Queens, the exteriors are all glass, unlike the older buildings which were all concrete which holds in the heat…
  17. These urban areas are fully developed…there is no open space around Newark…
  18. Cooled off to 73 out here, usually during peak high heat we dip to 76 or so, so not far off from our peak heat numbers. 84/75 now.
  19. Canada set its record high temp again today at 118. Florida has never recorded 110 degrees…
  20. North shore is roasting today, winds still too southerly for you guys
