Classic thump to mix/dryslot for i95 at the very least. Most likely outcome attm.
There's literally no reason to call that the most likely outcome. So much nonsense Ralph, come on. Outcome could be worse, could be better. It's days away and nothing is consistently dialed in.

I'm not so sure. One thing most guidance is really hearing on is the deep and strong 925mb SE ripping flow. I suppose a cleaner transfer, weaker sw, and track of the sw under us rather than over the big cities could help keep flow vectors with less of a SE component, but that ll jet is sticking out like a sore thumb. Let's nudge that weaker sw under us and take our chances.
loll "we" can't do anything and just hoping for different things to happen on a computer model isn't the reality of the situation Ralph come on!! There's a strong consensus here of what's going on and it's clear as day this is NOT a PHL area special. I remember days ago people were like oh no the models are wrong it's so darn cold this has to be snow! No, it's not wrong. The models show what they show because it reflects reality. This forum and the south east forum stands to have some winners. Us foreigners will not cash this one out. Root for our southern brothers.

I am fairly comfortable calling this a non-event for people east of PHL. A couple of shifts could result in mixed precip but I am comfortable making the call now. It will be more interesting N&W but it is looking to be a slop fest at this point. I find this stuff so intriguing though. I am so invested in places like GA and SC getting snow because it's less common and at a high level, it almost sounds unbelievable that it could snow in GA and rain in NJ. It's truly amazing stuff and I am OK not having to stare at snow pack for 3 weeks. I'll for sure be checking in on this one but it looks like a fascinating southern special - the weather channel will definitely be on my TV all day that day.
Blessings all!

One thing has become clear with this system....it will not be a flush clean hit for the big cities along i95....that much I think we can say with certainty at this point.
Thanks Ralph for finally being realistic. I often find you are way too optimistic and not realistic but this is a good start buddy!!!

Disregard the ICON since we were just told to do that six hours ago. Don't even post it. Don't mention it.

This thing could look totally different 24 hours before the event starts. You wouldn't want it to show what you want it to show right now else it wouldn't pan out.

I know certain models are more reliable than others but you gotta laugh when someone says just ignore it, mostly because it shows something they don't want to see lol.

Super surprised at what we're seeing here. Snow in SC and rain up here - crazy!

Went for an RSC walk. It's brutally cold out there. No real snow left here though. Apparently that silly big snowfall map made the rounds on social media. Very dangerous spreading that kind of thing - not good. I think a slight system will come through this weekend/early next week but nothing crazy. I'll leave the shovel and salt out just in case.

Went for a walk down by the water. Very cold - can't imagine what it'll feel like overnight. Looks to be pretty quiet this week with maybe some light action early next week. Hopefully can get past this artic cold soon!

Looks like a nice and quiet stretch coming up. Should get through January without any drama and then the unofficial start to fishing season aka st Patrick's day is right around the corner!!

2-4 a great call largely, nailed it. Some 5" reports out there in unexpected areas though NWS strikes out again!

Took an RSC walk folks. I sense the front but not as strong as one may hope for.

There hasn't been much snow and won't be this month. Better for staying safe on the roads.

You cannot control the weather and have no say in it so no point in getting upset. Prayers

Just got in from an RSC walk. I sense the front coming through but it is moderate. 2-4 still.

Been thinking 2-4 for past couple of days. NWS going with 4-6 which won't happen but its better to tell people too much then too little imho

GFS has been great last 3 years. Kuchera is never great yet people still post that.

The news has been good with this one and not much snow so should be no problems this weekend. Stay safe

Winter such a tough time. Between today, the mess on 95, the dangerous cold at night, winter sure did hit hard. Hopefully get out of this pattern soon

People still posting kuchera models for the sole reason the totals are always higher I imagine. Love this site lol

Very cold outside and some slick spots. Be careful. Getting dangerously cold lately at night - hopefully no homeless people have to sleep on the street.

Final total here in SNJ GloCo around 1.5". Roads and sidewalks melted so no shovel duty thankfully since it's freezing cold.

I guess it's going to be quiet around here except for the upper LV folks. I don't really see this trending anywhere, the dynamics aren't set up to make this an event for PHL/DE/NJ. A little shift could get some folks a little something interesting to pay attention to though. Stay safe friends. Good luck Ralph.
