Ice storms cause damage so no one really needs to see that happen. I'm flying back 4 PM Friday. I'm gonna probably just stay down here til Monday I'm thinking

Hey @Ralph Wiggumcan you give me an update on this weekend? I'm out of the loop. I'm due to fly back in Friday but if it looks sketchy I am cool staying at extra day or two down here.

Car slipped and slid down the hill, couldn’t turn onto my street. Had to turn around and come back up, it’s a rough go of it here.

I'm gonna quit the forum boys. There's no point. Storm started and we don't even know still. Our technology isn't as advanced as mother nature.

I am just posting model images for the benefit of this subforum for people to look at since there are those who lurk here who are watching the play by plays and who have expressed a desire to "learn". I have given no weight or "analysis" of which one(s) I think is "correct". They all constitute "data points", nothing more, nothing less.
No no no I'm glad you post it I like to see it!

All surfaces are white here in Ivyland. Nkce band over us setting up shop.
Both vehicles went in the shop this AM. Dead battery on one, deal oil pump on the other. Murphy's Law.
Sorry to hear ralph but now you have no reason to go anywhere anyway
No snow at PHL airport

Is that model ever right?
Probably not. I'm the resident pessimistic person here but it's clear it's going down for real. The NAM is probably inflated but I can't see not expecting 6-12 for PHL at a minimum

WOW AT THAT NAM!
I was SO WRONG about this one. F the other models. This is looking like a 9-18" for PHL boys enjoy it!

As I said last night. GFS was all alone. And it’s caving. Boom! Happy for you up there!
I fly to Palm Beach in like 8 hours lol. I bumped my flight up 4 days ago to leave early Friday instead of mid-day Saturday - THANK THE LORD!

Some of you guys aren't familiar with how a coastal works and it shows. The coastal points see the gale winds...and higher elevations in E PA. But these are 10m winds during the height of the snowfall here in SE PA. 17knots max?
We get out best winds when the damage is done and the snow has mostly moved out:
Winds won't knock down the totals as much as 20 degree temps will fluff up the accums in the Del Valley.
Damn plebs here spreading bad info. Send em back to the mid atlantic ralph

I will take that 10" of fluff and run like hell
Ralph, I want your take on it. What are you thinking for PHL given the discrepancies? Go with middle ground Euro rather than higher NAM and lower GFS?

Since we're trying to become non-mouth-breathers, what's the quick and dirty why the 3K totals are always less than 12K and which one is more realistic?
- 1
-
I'm personally frustrated that we can't get a solid idea of what is going on, drives me nuts. If I'm recapping correctly for PHL:
NAM is around 12"
GFS is around 4"
Euro is about 6"
That's just such a big difference!

Hello, I've a question for you. If Kuchera snow totals are misleading, why are they so often posted? I notice the "regular" snow totals are always noticeably less.
Kuchera sucks unless you're planning on the temps being fairly cold. They are going to be cold, but I would probably still add the kuchera + regular totals, divide it by 2 and take that number as a good idea in this case.
I am an uneducated mouth breather so take the advice as you will

I disagree with your line of reasoning rooting for an ice storm. Go root for a hurricane and tornados while you're at it I guess. Having it happen and being interested in it for varying reasons is one thing. Rooting for it? Not so much. My two cents. You won't take them so feel free to drop them off in the donation jar anyways.
