Remember the time of year it is, so even a temp in the upper 80's, would be the equivalent of a 100° reading in July, departure wise. Temps over 90° would be impressive indeed.
Exactly. The average high today is 73. Models are showing +15 to +20 temperature departures.

Topped out at 91 here.

Well before my time. I work out of South Shore, but I have done some work out of Manor Rd in the past.My father worked his way up to supervisor at the Manor rd. office for many years...Long time ago...retired around 1980.

Perfect Mailman weather.

Absolutely pouring here right now. 61 with .33 in rain and counting in the bucket so far
-
I'm right to the north of that cell developing over Staten Island/Raritan Bay. Heard a few rumbles of thunder.
-
it's been pouring for a half hour straight.

Honestly third time in the last 2 weeks I saw dark clouds with a developing storm that is right across the Kill Van Kull over Carteret.Everything time we have a storm event I notice a storm always develops right over or near SI-

I am on the other side of that cell and can confirm some loud thunder.Getting some thunder here now with the cell developing barely to my east over Staten Island. -
There have been whale and dolphin sightings in Raritan Bay as well. My parents have gone out on their boat regularly to go whale watching. That would be great, let’s keep the wet times rolling. If we can translate this into next winter things will really get interesting.
Marine life is on an incredible upswing. Daily dolphins, tuna, rays and the occasional whales at Jones Beach this summer. It’s incredible to see. I saw tuna flying through the air chasing bait fish only a few feet from shore yesterday! -
driving down the west shore expressway to the Outerbridge and it looked more like 10:30 rather than 6:30. Torrential rains now.
-
Nice lightning show looking out to my west and some wind gusts. Still reading 86 on the weather station, but I expect that to drop in the next 20 minutes
-
Managed to hit a 100 here. Back down to a brisk 99.

Stay hydrated and cool this weekend.
I hate the summer. I wish I was able to take my vacation this week. -
Absolute deluge on my route right now. I'm just sitting in the mail truck waiting for it to let up
-

I saw a few cloud to ground strikes on the south shore of Staten Island. My house is on a hill facing west towards the Outerbridge.Nonstop cloud to cloud lightning with that last line of storms, some wind but not much else. -
Boxing Day is going to be my number 1 for a long time. The jackpot for that one went right over Staten Island. Ended up with 30 inches.
