Exactly.  The average high today is 73.  Models are showing +15 to +20 temperature departures.

I'm right to the north of that cell developing over Staten Island/Raritan Bay. Heard a few rumbles of thunder.

it's been pouring for a half hour straight.

Everything time we have a storm event I notice a storm always develops right over or near SI

Just saw a nice lightning bolt that had to hit in Carteret NJ.

I'm on the edge of the rain, but seeing plenty of ctg lightning bolts.

Getting some thunder here now with the cell developing barely to my east over Staten Island.

That would be great, let’s keep the wet times rolling. If we can translate this into next winter things will really get interesting.
Marine life is on an incredible upswing. Daily dolphins, tuna, rays and the occasional whales at Jones Beach this summer. It’s incredible  to see. I saw tuna flying through the air chasing bait fish only a few feet from shore yesterday!

driving down the west shore expressway to the Outerbridge and it looked more like 10:30 rather than 6:30. Torrential rains now.

Nice lightning show looking out to my west and some wind gusts. Still reading 86 on the weather station, but I expect that to drop in the next 20 minutes

pop up shower by me. Nice little downpour in the Arden Heights section of Staten Island.

Nonstop cloud to cloud lightning with that last line of storms, some wind but not much else.

Boxing Day is going to be my number 1 for a long time.  The jackpot for that one went right over Staten Island.  Ended up with 30 inches.
