Yep, heard a rumble of thunder from that cell popping up. I'm on the edge of the cloud deckThundering in Piscataway.
As this really isn't a frontal passage I imagine we could be looking for storms to pop up all day. -
We call this mailman weather at the post office

76 with a nice easterly breeze. A pleasant bust as long as the winds don't shift.

Still sitting at 89 after a complete miss from the storms. At least they kicked up a nice little breeze

Torrential rains here, had some thunder and lightning leading into it.

I will be working 12+ hour tours everyday with no days off starting today.
I've been averaging 65-70 hour weeks since the pandemic started. Have probably had a grand total of 5 days off since lockdown started. At least Sundays have been mostly half days delivering parcels in the AM. I'm off the overtime list at the end of the month, but will still probably pull 50 hour workweeks from mere parcel volume alone.

There was a string of 90 degree days in mid to late May in 96. I remember because my family was in the process of moving and all my summer clothes were in storage. The good news is it'll change. Much like winter it seems if you're really cold in April/May you rarely have a cool summer. The only cases I know of where this really held the whole way through were 83 and 96 and I want to say 96 actually was fairly mild from 5/1-6/15 but it flipped right after that. -
lots of thunder and lightning here too

First shorts day of the year for me on my route.

Just heard some thunder outside my window.

Mets first opener in March, and it was 87 degrees at Shea. I remember walking around Liberty Science Center on a class field trip in shorts.on March 22nd 1998 NYC got 5" of snow...2-3" on Staten island...from March 27th to 31st the temperature topped 80 degrees...90 imby on the 31st...April 1998 had no days in the 80's...the highest temp was 73 near the end of the month... -
I'll take a sunny day in the 60s on March 26th. I don't care about the rest of the month.

Anyone got a Euro?
Way out to sea. Not a drop of precip west of Islip, light rain showers for the rest of the island.

5 years ago today Euro said we were getting 3 feet of snow in the city. Upton put out a 24-36 inch snow map for the 5 Boros.

You're right. 2010-2011 was an AMAZING year for snowstorms. We had two KU events that winter which followed a KU event in February 2010. We haven't had one since January 2016.
I started delivering mail summer of 2013 (orientation was during that July heat wave). My first 2 winters (13-14, 14-15) working outside were snowy and brutally cold. I took notice. Then my third winter featured the massive blizzard which I drove to work in and then drove home after being at work for 2 hours. This decade hasn't been that bad

light snow picking up again here. Arden Heights, Staten island

Impressive. The UPS driver at work wears shorts year round. I love wearing shorts and push the season on both ends but that’s a bit extreme IMO
My shorts threshold carrying the mail is 60 degrees. Wore shorts on Christmas Eve 2015. My favorite Christmas rush season weather wise in my postal career.
