Yeah not even worth looking at the GFS other than entertainment purposes
So I’m not getting the 3 feet of snow it was promising for late next week?-

Even if it snows there would be zero reason to cancel any plans. It takes a ton of snow to slow anything down in the city and that’s not on the table
It would be getting into the city that would be the problem, especially via express bus on poorly treated roads. I'd be adding an additional hour to my trip in travel time.

I plan on traveling into Manhattan on Sunday. I'm not altering my plans until something other than GooFuS is on board.

Still waiting on tomorrow’s snowstorm

Very delicate situation because GFS is amped but relying on a CCB to bring down the cold air. Otherwise, there would be some temperature issues like the Euro shows. Good to see it not backing down, but we need support from the other models as well.
Agreed, GFS consistently had me getting 6 to 8 inches of snow a few weeks ago. I ended up getting 2 inches of sleet -

I feel as if NYE is always 20 or 55, no in between, at least since my memory goes back
New Year's Day 2018 was cold as hell. Froze my ass off at CitiField for the Rangers-Sabres Winter classic. Ball drop had to have been in the single digits. We got a nice blizzard 3 days later.

NYC needs 0.2 to go above 3 inches, Kalshi odds only 45 percent for December. Seems low to me
We all know there could be 3 inches on the ground and they’d measure it as a trace -
12Z Canadian now shows snowstorm 12/26 - seems like when one model drops the storm another picks it up

Lets go nuts and have Boxing Day II-

Out here in the mail truck delivering everyone’s online orders, if you see a mailman doing donuts outside your window on Staten Island, it’s me.

Historic torch is gearing up for second half of December, rubber band going to snap back hard
Unless it's in the 70's on Christmas Eve like 2015, it's not historic.

Yep-12/26/2010 is one of my favorites living there for sure. Too bad we couldn’t get that death band over NJ a little further east.
Got caught underneath it and jackpotted on Staten Island. It’s still my number 1 storm of all time. 30 inches here. -

Chicago wins
Speaking of Illinois weather, the Northwestern-Illinois game is currently being played in the snow and airing on Fox.

A foot and a half of snow the week after Thanksgiving? Lock it in.

Did it get down to 32 at any of the New York City reporting stations?
34 right now with light snow here.
My personal weather station on Staten Island got down to 32 degrees. Currently in Ocho Rios Jamaica where it’s 81 and humid. We had a thunderstorm here a few hours ago. You can see some signs of damage from Melissa, but otherwise business as usual-
