This upcoming heatwave over Labor Day weekend looks to be near record-breaking at least in the northern areas of the subforum. Here at Green Bay, our point forecast for both Sunday and Monday is 95 as of right now. It's a lot harder to get Green Bay up to 95 in general compared to Madison or Milwaukee, but to do it this late in the year is quite extraoridinary. This would be the first time Green Bay has hit 95 or above in September since 1955! And to potentially do it two days in a row is even more spectacular. The only other time Green Bay has exceeded 95 on consecutive days in September was on 09/09-11 1931 where the temp was 95,97,95. If we overperform and reach 96 on either Sunday or Monday it'll be only the third time ever that Green Bay has reached that temp in September behind 09/10/1931 and 09/08/1933. We are also looking at the first 70+ degree lows in September since 2015, which while not nearly as record breaking is still pretty significant.
I can see you hitting at least 100 on Sunday, possibly 103-105.

enjoy the heat. you're schtick has run its course once again, you're about 6 months overdue for your cyclical ban. folks are tolerating your shit as its summer but if you keep the antics up the next few months you're donezo again. maybe tone it down and try to act normal.
winter won't play too nice for you, i'm sorry man.

Why do you post the GFS, it’s proven over and over again to have a 5-10 degree warm bias.
Heat does look to stick around for the first half of September.GFS was spot on with temps today, nailed the heat for MKE last week, etc.

41 here this morning. Nice early taste of Fall before a little warm spell returns this weekend/early next week. Temps won't be nearly as impressive as last week's heat wave, prob mid 90s tops for the DVN cwa.
you're too cold this weekend. it will be way warmer. probably not as humid.

All time record for September looks in jeopardy for MKE. Let’s bag the triple digits!

A winter like that would probably translate to 40s/50s through Memorial Day.
Maybe not -- eventually springs will be warm again.

Fascinating how gulf hurricanes always coincide with tranquil and sunny weather in the lakes.
They block the pattern from progressing east.

I didn't know Bradford, Pennsylvania was an important agricultural region.
No one has gardens? Would suck to lose tomato and pepper crop over a month early.

Anyways, I'm allowed to be upset about the loss of a natural climate. Regardless of whether the elimination of occasional late summer frosts and freezes were advantageous to agriculture. Just look at Bradford, Pennsylvania. Used to be one of the coldest spots in the country.
August freezes in 1965, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1982, and 1986. None since 1986. It hasn't even been below 40F in the month of August since 2014, and the last time below 38F was in 2004. I mean look, it's barely dropped below 50F this month. This type of a change has to have a drastic impact on the local ecosystem.
Wild a person thinks upper 20s in August is good. Must like famine.

Hopefully the one heading towards Florida doesn't do something like that.
Florida is about to be flattened. There will be zero insurance companies in that state next year.

Heat when the kids head back to school and in early September has always been a thing, Just like a stretch of 80's in October. A period of 70's near Turkey day. The good news Sun is tempered quite a bit already versus June and July. Now if the angle of the sun begins to increase after Labor day that's a concern.
Just like snow can't stick in March because sun angle?

In all honesty hardypalmguy isn’t wrong to post these, Labor Day and early September in general in the last decade has been prone to very hot spells.
Let’s say the GFS is off by 10 degrees. That’s still over 100 for most and an all time September record for MKE.- 1

Heat or not the first half of september is looking majorly dry. Dry enough that some areas could see their first ever occurrence of D4 conditions if something doesn't change my mid-late month.
River levels in eastern Iowa have eclipsed 2012 and there's little reason to be optimistic.
Summer currently polling at a solid F- for me.
Nice hot and dry death ridge for September. Love it.

but it won’t, because it’s not realistic.
.
But it could cause GFS was actually a little too cold for MKE temps last Wednesday…- 1

Today was the 4th day of overcast crap that I've been dreading to see make itself again. TWN forecast completely flopped showing partly cloudy, early this morning it was dark with thicc canopy. Got this blast of rain coming from the north at noon that also sucked. The last 4 days my forecast was completely wrong and its been awful. The sun came out at 5pm today so got something.
Soon we will have overcast for weeks.- 1

Figured I’d get this going now because Labor Day weekend looks outright hot which continues on into the first week of the month. Some all time temperature records for the month of September could fall if the GFS is right.

Port Washington CMAN site reporting 100.
About as close as you're gonna get to an official 100 for you there.
Officially I hit 98.3. I had 103 in 2012 and 100 in 2021.
Crazy how it varies.
