  1. Used to correspond with Larry quite a bit. Great guy ! He is who talked Dave Dierks into taking Meteorology at Iowa State with him. Very knowledgeable and one of the best pattern recognition and long range guys .
  2. Sun came out for awhile here earlier. Cloudy and 36 now . Alot of melting.
  3. @WCYB_DavidBoyd 4 to 5 inches of snow in Jonesville Va this morning. Deeper in spots.
  4. Just measured 1.7" . 2" per hour rates at times.
  5. Measured 1.1 inches 5 minutes ago and it's hammering it .
  6. Coming down here now. Was bigger than nickles few mins ago, now smaller but alot of them.
  7. Yeah, I know. Just stressing the unbelievable aspect of that by them. Just amazing inlight of the overwhelming Data support. Should have already been a watch earler. I mean, what good is those type of advisories if not used ahead of time.
  8. Are they ever gonna give in and issue warnings for much of the area ?!?
  9. Had some light snow here that lasted about 30 mins.
  10. Same here. A few small patches. My Dad used to say the same
  11. It kind of looks like the Euro in particular is basically wanting to present a phase 7 pattern of sorts. Like u alluded, need that phase 8 then cod. That's what's being projected by mjo mods so, will learn GFS .
  12. Mjo I think could be the clear answer here as far as how far the Arctic Front pushed. Problem is, will it have enough umph due to its Amp.
  13. That Model overall has done poorly for this area. Until it improves, definitely not a fan.
  14. Looks to me it's just pulling it's bias of holding energy back in the west and that energy pulling the trough back there. Hopefully, that's the case.
  15. Looks like the Nam is either suggesting somewhat of a downsloping effect for the great Valley or just a bit of a warmer heat build up as sometimes does happen in that area even minus the downsloping affect. However, with the more expansive and stronger ULL, probably Downsloping.
  16. Winter of 76-77 was similar as far as cold(actually colder January) and being out of School but, although snow was on North facing and shady areas from early Dec. To Mid Feb.. the total was much less with just over 30". The River in Pennington gap froze solid and was snow covered .
  17. 77-78 my all time favorite. 72 inches ! The ground was covered from early December until the end of February. I remember being out of school over a month, going back 1 day the end of January only to be out another 3 weeks !
