Today and tomorrow are legit beautiful days. Time to get out and enjoy it!

We might make a run at 70 on Monday. Usually we warm faster and higher than predicted.

I was surprised how windy it was when I got up today. I guess I shouldn't have been given the low bombing off the east coast.

Really? We had a period mid to late afternoon where the skies brightened but other than that it's rained here pretty much the entire day and evening. Temp was in the 30s the entire time after 11am.

It's still raining, just a few random super gloppy parachutes mixing in.

Temp is 38 here as well, down from an early high of 42. To this point I've only seen rain of the non-white variety.

Really cool radar presentation now: scattered showers in the western half of PA moving SE while a more solid shield of rain in the Delmarva and up into eastern PA is moving almost due north.

Horst on tomorrow/tomorrow night: "Wet snow will fall in some PA mountain locations while intermittent rain & drizzle falls in the valleys (though it can mix with snow during higher intensity spells). Friday night brings an outside chance of some wrap-around precip in the form of snow or snow showers." I think this situation screams that a few (probably very few) people get a nice surprise in the next 36 hours but it's going to be nowcasting event and if and when it does materialize, most will be on the outside looking in. I also believe that this is quite likely the last chance for most of us in the LSV barring a later March/early April hail mary.

I think you've got a better chance of seeing snow tomorrow than next week. That's my take.

It would be the most ironic thing in recorded weather history if the GFS 12z happened verbatim as depicted... On the above scenario, BOS, NYC and PHL all receive > 20" of snow. That has NEVER happened in recorded history from the same storm. Ever. For it to happen on this, of all years, in this, of all patterns... There's a first time for everything, right? Edit: Meant to say that it's never happened in MARCH. Sorry!

Shortly after my post last evening about the rain, a 2nd "cell" came through with moderate rain and high winds. I was looking at the max wind gusts throughout CTP and it was amazingly uniform in the 45-55mph range. Honestly, it sounded and looked windier than that.

Pretty good rain but zero lighting and thunder here.

My absolute greatest weather fear is seeing a tornado approaching my home. For it to happen during the cover of darkness is unfathomable to me.

I'm with you 100%. Having said that, and this has been debated here and other places for a long time - I respect those that do. I might not share that passion with them BUT I understand it all the same. For a person who is a weather enthusiast and not just about snow, it's certainly interesting and fascinating to watch unfold. And I'm equally 100% sure that no severe weather enthusiast ever wishes death and destruction upon people...but it's a sad reality of nature at it's fiercest.

Several March storms were warm in advance...'93 was, though a few recently were warmer. There was a storm in March, it might have been 2007 where we had close to 1' of snow a day after it was at or near 70. It was cold leading into '96 storm - when the storm started I was sitting at 8F after reaching only around 20 the previous day.

Well, the forecast for today was overcast with PM light showers. It's been wall to wall sun (at least down here) which explains a lot specific to today... My wife says that my weather station is currently at 67.2!

It's amazing how frequently it happens, I've talked about this in the past. Would love to know the why.
