  1. Phone notification for life-threatening flood emergency for our area. It's barely raining here now but a few miles to my south there are road closures right along the Rt 30 corridor in Lanco.
  2. I'm already over 1" and very heavy rain continues. It just keeps reforming between Marietta and Elizabethtown.
  3. Just started to pour here out of NOWHERE. I looked at the radar less than 10 minutes ago and there was nothing remotely close to me - suddenly, there's a little red speck directly over us.
  4. CTP hoists Flash Flood Watches for all of us except I believe for @MAG5035 and our friend from Clearfield.
  5. @MAG5035 thanks for posting that picture. Extended family has a cabin several miles up the road from there and we visit that spot often. I don't think I've ever been there when the weather was that nice, lol
  6. Adams county is taking it on the chin this evening. @Cashtown_Coop, you in on that cell?
  7. Oh I know that. I'm just letting you know that I signed up for the losing team. Speaking of which...my Orioles lost 3 games in the span of 22 hours this week. That's impressive.
  8. Jim Rice and George Foster were 2 of baseball most feared, yet quietest players from the 1970s. It was fun as a kid to watch both.
  9. Further, in their statement CTP specifically called out the southern half of York and Lancaster counties for being at most risk for flooding. So what I'm saying is - you and just about everyone else (me included) is playing this game for the have not's.
  10. I...I don't even know what to say to this. I only have room in my heart to like one of you...I guess you're going to have to fight it out.
  11. Looks like 87 is going in the books for today's high, which is just above the seasonal norms and once again...a few degrees over what was predicted.
  12. So I mentioned Tropical Storm Lee the other day and that got me thinking...what was the weather like in 2011 before that event? Sort of interesting discovery even if it means literally nothing. In 2011 we had AN precipitation in spring (same as this year, except for Rouzerville) In 2011 we had a very hot July, including a 103 reading at MDT. (we had a record-setting hot July this year) In 2011 July was very dry. (We all know how dry it's been this year) So while all of that might be purely coincidental, maybe just maybe we'll turn things around over the coming months. (though hopefully not to the extreme that we did in September 2011)
  13. Some of those NY weenies would be complaining that the torch isn't completely submerged.
  14. One thing I can say for certain - I NEVER look at the 10 day GFS. I don't look at the 10 day anything for that matter. I did just look at the thermometer and I'm sitting at 84.
  15. I almost...kinda...sorta...feel that let down that I do after tracking a big snowstorm and it's moved on. Last couple of days have been fun. Without the cleanup.
  16. @Voyager I had zero wind here...I mean maybe just the slightest of a breeze during the time that it rained. Since the rain ended the winds have picked up a bit out of the NW but only 10-15 mph or so. (thus far)
