Lessons learned: 1) Daytime light snow will have a difficult time accumulating even in December and temperatures are near freezing during the precipitation ; 2) if it is above 45 degrees the day before snow, sticking will be a problem if the snow begins during daylight; and 3) wet bulbs temps need to be below freezing when snow begins if a daytime snow is not heavy.
  2. I think for North Carolina, the problem is the snow rates have been far too light to acclimate outside of the mountains. It has been at or near freezing for most of the duration of the snow, but daytime snow is just not sticking when it’s this light

  8. One thing that is different from Friday’s system is it’s significantly colder tonight in the Triad than it was this time Thursday night. PTI is already just above freezing, at 35.
