Born, raised and lived all of my life in SW MO in Joplin, Branson and Springfield.  Not a professional meteorologist, but have a high interest in severe weather.  During my lifetime, I have personally observed 3 tornadoes in Joplin MO including the EF5 tornado May 22, 2011, which missed my location by 6 city blocks. 

I feel it is my personal obligation, particularity since the 2011 Joplin tornado to share accurate and timely information that has been vetted, to my friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances who rely on me to keep them abreast of severe weather. I do this via social media on Facebook handles @weatherjunkie.

You won't find me posting any absurd rhetoric or to any highly technical threads. I am mainly like the mall cop.  I'm here to observe and report.
