  1. Southern Capitol Hill has been deflaked. Now a mix of some sort. But it was a nice surprise to see the snow that did come down sticking almost immediately.
  2. Now seeing flakes on the south side of Capitol Hill. (ones falling from the sky, that is.) Had been sleet but is now fairly fluffy.
  3. Speaking of the crazy weather coming to Denver and environs, I am in northern Wyoming right now and would actually love to stay to see the snow on the mountains here on Monday/Tuesday, but my dad insists we get out of here ahead of it, so.... Anyone want to do some forecasting for the best way to drive back to DC from northern Wyoming? Can leave anytime starting early on Labor Day/tomorrow. My preference is to take I-90, but looking at the GFS and the NAM I'm not sure how far across South Dakota we can get before the precip starts drifting in. Could instead start off southeastward to I-80 and make it across Nebraska in dry weather, but the stuff around Iowa on Tuesday is vexxing me. Should I dip further south into Missouri? Or will the Iowa stuff be more spotty in the morning on Tuesday (would probably be into Illinois by noon, maybe?) Actually now wishing we could get out of here today because the smoke from the Montana fires has started pouring in, and even inside I'm already coughing. It's a paradise out here, I tell you!
  4. Alas, the Earth Cams are no match for both a derecho and a storm-watching public.
  5. My yard is soooooooo happy after last night. DC proper doesn't seem to get training like that during the summer much anymore.
  6. ETA: Sorry, missed that it was posted up-thread.
  7. I just want to go on record as saying that Dorian is a great name for a storm. Very retro. Donna, Carol, Hazel, Agnes, Dorian.... Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. Sun already back out after the DC storm, which was fading by the time it got to me on the Hill.
  9. Ditto on Capitol Hill. Sun is almost out, but it is just POURING.
  10. I had hail the size of whatever is one step up from pea sized on Capitol Hill. Jawbreaker size, I guess.
  11. Yes, sorry, I had meant that the big change in temps I was seeing is Thursday to Friday. I'll go back into my corner and cross my fingers until then. Thanks.
  12. If tomorrow is a big show, will that lessen the chances of another big show on Thursday? (worried about an outdoor event Thursday evening) Never a good sign when one day's forecasted high is 93 and the next day is 82.
  13. I didn't measure earlier today, but I've got 8 inches on the trash cans and 2 inches on the sidewalk that I shoveled at 4pm (and that caved immediately).
  14. The fool's errand of trying to capture snow in progress, but maybe you can see.
  15. Puking snow on the Hill by the SE Fwy. Gorgeous.
  16. Picture perfect snowfall continuing here. Big steady flakes.
  17. If that's the beginning of the pivot line on radar, it can just stay right where it is right now, thankyouverymuch. Fatties falling on the Hill.
