Hard to believe it's been a year! You might also want to add:

    7. Temps in the SE of 22 or below are "too cold to snow," despite most of the remaining northern hemisphere having no problem seeing snow with much lower temps.

    8. If we have a warm November and the pattern flips in December we'll have a different pattern than we did before.

You guys are comedians :)  BTW 2 wooly worms solid black up here...and the woodpeckers pecking south so you know it's a hard winter when them be pecking on the south logs

Landslide in Watauga County. 2 fatalities. Near Boone. Watauga Democrat is local paper if u want to see pics etc.

Spoke to some of the firefighters that went to that scene on Heavenly Mtn...foundation started to slide, then pulled away from propane, followed by pulling away from the powerlines at the meter box...sparking the explosion...at least that's the theory...but it's still under investigation...still very sad news indeed.

I am literally nerding out. I can’t even tell you how hard it’s snowing right now and the size of the flakes. It looks like it’s raining outside.

Well...get your nerd on...rates are gonna pump for the next 9 hours...waiting for the transition here and looks like snow and more coming in this weekend...my parents rescheduled the visit from the snow 2 weeks ago, and they'll have to move it again as I think we're about to get a big thump.  Do we get thundersnow in the mountains?  I lived up here from 95 to 01, but don't remember if we get that or not.

These dark blue returns over us are LITERALLY INSANEEE!! Just had what looked like a transformer blew outside and a crack of thunder that rocked the whole house. It is snowing the biggest flakes I have ever seen in my life and I have been through some crazy blizzards when I lived in the northeast. Amazingness!!

Yep, dark dark blue over Salem and my old spot of Fincastle and Natural Bridge

Sticking to my guns northern mtns see 12+ lollipops. Also beleive the big lollipop winners outside of mtns will be somewhere writhing 50 miles north or south of the NC / VA  state line from the foothills out into the coastal plain. Depends on exact track, but a deepening sub 980 l.p. riding our coastline will crank some rates no doubt. 2m will be an issue, but rates is what will give accums outside mtns.

    agreed
