Somewhere along a line from Charlottesville to Asheville, I am currently looking at the area around Sparta.  Still have to Friday to hammer down specifics. I did order a new snow shovel on Amazon, professional grade.

Maybe I should rent our bedroom...I can offer IPAs and my wife's amazing shrimp and grits with cheddar and bacon :)  Anyway...love the tracking here...it's all about the joy of the chase

Just catching up with the models today.  WOW! I'm a little taken back.  Again, I've only been on the boards and looking at models for about 8 years now.  I've yet to see what's being modeled so consistently for my back yard. The ensembles have such a nice damming signature (strong) through the storm now.  Thank you all for the great play by play and break down.

I remember the same think about Eric Thomas.  He went on air several days early and pretty much said, Charlotte is going to get nailed by a big winter storm.  And he was right.  If I recall, that was also an El-nino year with a southern wave.  They seem pretty comparable.

    Agreed...lots of models converging here...:)

Nice. Just hit my high for the day at 24.6. Warmer air is on it's way.

Hope so...my truck hit a sheet of ice today so I had to park it walk home and get the ol' f350 7.3...We've had 4 events up here in the mountains and it's not even technically winter.  This is going to be an active winter.  Glad to be here with you all and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving :)

Was up in Boone today. West half of campus got snow, solid half inch, east side hardly any. Was a betifull ride up 421 with all the frozen fog on elevated surfaces. We win tommorow fingers crossed we get weather like wsu verse washington on cbs now. Ripping fatties

Hope so...make it tough for Troy tomorrow...ASU will have an advantage in this mountain weather :)  Go ASU!

This is about as classic of a synoptic setup as you'll ever see for in-situ CAD in the Carolinas. Some of the same areas affected by last week's ice storm and the blue ridge escarpment should closely monitor for light-moderate amounts of freezing rain Fri night & early Sat. #ncwx

Bring it on :)  IMO it's going to be a great winter with a lot to track

Yep turned to snow about 15 minutes after I posted that.

We still have a lot of ice on the trees here and the winds are picking up...WCS is on a two-hour delay...not sure about tomorrow for the kiddos...my daughter was outside and she said she heard a gun go off in the woods...I told her it was probably a tree snapping...be safe everyone :)  IMO it's gonna be a very active winter!
