  1. Jamaica VT seems like it’s a good spot. I found something nice there.
  2. Turns out BWI doesn't go to BTV. Not at the moment, at least. I swear in the past I have seen flights. BWI does go to Albany and a quick ride into VT. How would Bennington be climate-wise? BWI also goes to Portland, which opens up Maine a bit. Trying to determine the best spot to be within 45-60 mins of Portland.
  3. Yeah, I am trying to secure something there. Also looking at southern Vermont near Stratton (e.g., Jamaica, VT) if a good location in NH doesn't work out. That's an easier drive too, but worried about proximity to Albany and NY'ers... Also massholes too of course LOL
  4. Yes that’s what I meant. ORH told me the same thing. Plenty of land there though. What are your thoughts on Bethlehem? Same deal?
  5. I'd love to be there but not seeing anything like that at the moment. Bunch of large lots about 30 mins away in Whiteford. Also some in Bethlehem.
  6. Great, closing in on a nice lot there. I've never skied Jay Peak but I have heard great things. Plus access to Montreal which is nice for us.
  7. Would Montgomery be decent?
  8. I appreciate the detail. Found some good properties around Wardsboro, VT, seems close to Stratton and Mt. Snow. I've never skied at either place so I would need to check it out. Good spot for snow? Maine is great but such a huge hike. With NH I can drive it or fly into Manchester and drive a little further. VT is an easy drive for us. Maine takes forever.
  9. What about snow in NH? 80 inches a year seems kinda low. I get that in Garrett County (sometimes... this winter sucked ass). If I am making this switch I want it to be worth it.
  10. I have never had any desire to have a place in NY state. Just a personal preference.
  11. What about New Hampshire?
  12. I have found prices are already tanking. I am fortunate that my business is one of the few thriving right now, so I have some cash to spend. We have been looking at properties in Italy too. Prices are diving there, obviously. But too much risk to buy sight-unseen.
  13. Thanks man, I was hoping you'd weigh in. You always have the pulse.
  14. Thanks, a lot to digest there.
  15. Looking to buy 30+ acres in NNE. What would be a good general area to search, proximity to a ski place is a must. Otherwise, not many requirements. Big snow, too, obviously!
  16. Why look at a storm 11 days away when the models are jumping all over the place on this first one? There is very little chance they have the second storm even close to right yet.
  17. I’m ok with super deep cold and dry versus this mild weather like we have upcoming.
  18. Prime climo for snow for this region is now the month of March. It hardly ever snows December and January any more.
  19. Don't worry, the snow will all be gone soon and then you can disappear again.
  20. I would describe this snow as more like the tar from an emphysemic smoker's lungs after a three pack a day habit for 40 years... but yeah still awesome.
  21. Models often overdo the "second phase" of these events. and the HRRR/RAP at range are really suspect. Based on radar, things are winding down, could be some bursts here and there, sure. Great event. So often things are boom or bust around here. Always nice to get a "standard" 4-6 inch snowstorm for the area. Like your grandpa used to frequently enjoy from DEC 1 to MAR 1 before our climate was apparently screwed up. LOL
  22. SREFs have burned us many times. They can appear to be very stubborn which makes it seem that they have caught on to some trend ahead of the other models, but then it turns out they are just crap and were way off the whole time. People also forget to take out the outliers (high and low) to produce the mean. There are some real garbage members in there (various ARW - Always Really Wet and NMM - Never Much Moisture runs) that always mess up the mean.
