    A couple snowflakes falling

Superlative work from Will and Ji putting up all those blizzard snow maps weeks and weeks early - totally nailed the four flurries this AM. Good stuff.

22" from this storm here in Boulder. I was living in Richmond during 09/10 and it really stung to see the insane snow totals just an hour or two north (although Jan 2016 helped a little). I think I can finally say I'm content ~15 years later now that I have experienced three 20"+ events in 5 years along with the all-time snowiest winter in Boulder. This is truly a sick hobby

All that said, there is something magical about a good MA snowstorm. I miss it.

Hey Midlothian! Good to hear from you and I am super glad you caught that one pretty flush in Boulder.

  3. One of those days where the building is shaking from the wind hitting it. Or feels like it is. I mean, I am 20 floors up so it's probably not literally shaking but...still. In any event, windy.

It was the least windy winter on record apparently!

Wind is 24/365 possibility though. Wind, it is an ever present potential. Wind, destroyer of limbs, feller of power lines. Wind, which led me to eight EIGHT power outages in 2023 alone. Wind, my new enemy, we meet again.

Windiest day of the year on recycling day = a neighborhood full of blowing trash. Particular shout out to the neighbor who had a huge pile of shredded paper loose in their now tipped over recycling bin.

I literally did not put out my recycling this AM just because of this issue. It can wait a week to be put out.

    Also, wind is dumb.

  6. Kinda not ideal conditions today for the st Patrick’s 5k in downtown Baltimore. Better than yesterday I guess but that wind is gonna make it an unpleasant experience I suspect for the runners.

  7. Got in 5 miles of a 7.5 hike at Soldier’s Delight area in owing mills in just a mist. Last two and a half miles it opened up and poured. That said looks like the heaviest this AM went up to PA and is still heavy up there while just light here. And looks like the heaviest later is over toward 95 and eaat toward @CAPE.  Probably a precip minimum for this event in and around the beltways compared to north and east anyway…

Happy you guys saw the snow you did this year. A couple overperformers down / over there IIRC? At least a significant improvement to last year!

I walked away with 11 on the season in my location in coastal NJ,

Um, our snow totals were kinda shit. The bar cannot be in comparison to a historically awful year.

All winter you find the worst looking long range guidance to post. Now when there is almost no reasonable chance of snow for DC you’re cherry picking 600 hour control runs.  What’s your deal?

He’s a troll. Has been forever.  Worst outcome now for many of us would be a pointless anomalously cold and rainy period around opening day so he posts things that point that show that worst outcome. When it is winter and most of us very much would like snow he does the opposite. That’s what you are noticing.
