lol Albany. I'm surprised we've managed even that much.

BDL is bad as well. WNE and ENY FTL so far this winter, especially the valleys that don't cash in much on any upslope and lake streamers etc.

  2. 18.5" here  for the season so far and I average 49", pretty paltry.  Long range doesn't look overly promising either.  It's still early in terms of writing off the whole season but it's definitely feeling and smelling like a ratter.

  3. Just missed the real good stuff here with 5.8, still a nice wintry appeal and fun snow day for the kids. Definitely a bit frustrating when banding has tended to set up just SE of here in winter events but I'll take what I can get. Hopefully far NW areas up toward Hippy and ALY get themselves a big time interior crusher.

  4. Yes we still have green leaves here mainly on the oaks, however the majority of trees are now past peak and duller than they were.  My particular backyard does not have fully healthy grass so it is turning browner than it was about 2 to 3 weeks ago and we did have a pretty solid frost locally and 3 days below 36. Yes, in general when you drive around it's very clear that things are later and greener than normal this year.   It Is especially true on the shoreline.

For snowiest places where people actually live, northern Japan has to be at or near the top of the list. Especially since most of it falls in just 2 or 3 months.

My dad was sick for a long time and passed away on 7/31. So posting wasn't of much interest.  I'm also living alone in the house and it was nice to get away yesterday.

Very sorry for your loss.  Glad to see you back and hopefully the peak colors put on a decent show this year and we have a decent winter.

Pretty much on track in CT. The wet summer is helping the leaves stay greener a tick longer:

    Peak foliage timeframes

The leaves will change in the northern parts of the state first, around Columbus Day, and then move down into the valleys and down toward the shore. Here are estimated peak foliage timeframes for each section:

    Connecticut Northwest/Northeast Corners: October 3 – 8

Connecticut Eastern and Western Mid-State Counties: October 16 - 23

Shoreline and lower Connecticut River Valley: October 24 - 30

    Southwest Corner: November 7 - 14

Those are strange timelines, there's basically one week where it's peak nowhere between 9-15.

Based on the way things are progressing I would probably go

Northwest and Northeast Hills October 12- 18

The remainder of interior Connecticut. October 18-26

    Shoreline October 26-November 4th
