It doesn't make a lot of sense on the soundings
Ya, I’m not buying that mixing BS..especially that far into the interior.

It’s better for us . Hard to know with maps but it should shift heavy band it had over ALB south and east
Ok maybe. I was thinking more of shifting the best stuff offshore...but maybe I’m mistaken?

This is a true arctic airmass overhead right now. Dew point is at 15F this morning. Ocean induced clouds are forming in the northerly surface winds. Again, winds are light to calm at times, but still out of the north. I find it really hard for the winds to turn easterly and scour out this deep dry and cold arctic air. Winds would have to turn out of the east-southeast or southeast or south for their to be appreciable warming.
It always happens though..and quite fast most times out there.

Some teachers might not
No my town will cancel and no remote learning if/when they do. They purposely made that clear here. Smart move imo. Let the kids be kids for god sakes.
Just realized what you meant...and I agree 100%.

We are having a normal good ol fashioned snow day here tomorrow. The way it should be.
I’ll tell you lots of kids aren’t gonna show up for on line learning during a snow storm...and I don’t blame them one bit. -

It looks like the GFS is tapping some of the convection moisture into the conveyor belts better....it is notable in E MA/RI this run. Some of the guidance (including the GFS) is developing a bit of a lower-midlevel firehose from the east tomorrow morning....like 300 mile fetch at 40-50 knots)
If real, I’d imagine this Could enhance totals some..?

Mostly Overcast here now..sun almost gone.

Look at that -32 in Canada on the map of morning observations Will posted . Wow
Serious arctic airmass..no joke this time. Unlike 10 days ago when we were hoping for the storm to make its own cold air.
We primed.

Well hey....I'm just saying. If someone has a lot of groundwater bleeding out in his/her yard, it could lead to the first few inches melting on contact. 8" instead of 12" - boom.
Are you for real? Go drink some more Wine. Lmao.

Out of ICU so thats a start Wolfie. Should be a banga. Anytime on the graphics and oh, side bar on a Christmas day snow.......
That’s really great to hear...I’m very happy to hear that you’re out of the ICU..Definitely a step in the right direction. Rest up and heal.
And wouldn’t that be a hoot on Christmas...very interesting.

Sure hope you’re doing better Steve..and get well soon my friend. Thanks so much for the graphics. Appreciated.

Yeah. We've been locked for a while IMO. I think SE does very well too, even if they sleet for a bit. It's been a few years since we've had this widespread a big snow in CT (if it produces). Tomorrow night should be great.
yes, Definitely looking forward to it.
Ryan has the SE in the 5-10” range...which is significant for sure. Hopefully they don’t mix much at all..and can maximize as much of the precip as snow.

anybody think the tracking is more fun than the actual event? like at some point you gotta just turn it all off and sip it all in........
I actually love the event. For me it’s the reward of following it. If I know my area is out of it, with no chance, there no way I’m following it.

More uniform than 12Z. We're splitting hairs though.
Thanks Watcher. Ya, that is a very good run. That’s a Major storm for CT for sure. Looking good for a big hit for most in CT away from the SE coast.

Nice thump. Mix line is straddling coastal SE CT though.
Wasn’t there always a thump? What’s different on it?

Eastern, Mass is actually still snowing for a few hours after that. So that makes it interesting to say the least in that HREF model output.
That’s 7am ...so everybody in SNE is snowing for a while after that.

Enjoy this one folks! I am in MD prepping for a sleet bomb.
Our HECS evaporated.
You’re area in NH is gonna get some snow...on top of the dumping you had 10 days ago. Freshen it up.

Time to turn models off and just enjoy the build up
I like to do that right before the onset...once it starts, I want to enjoy the storm in real time.

Well not when the storm takes an optimal track for you guys, but when it doesn’t-like its doing this time, we’ll you know what happens.
My point was that you don’t think the warm air will scour out the cold, but it does in many cases, such as this one.
