Anyone have a frost this a.m.? I was very close.
28° the past 2 mornings here. But I'm not too far from winter_rules.

This current storm would be infuriating if this were winter. As it is, I love it. Looks beautiful for awhile now.

Big time power outages around here. Our local small time provider (DCEC) at one point had 75% of their customers out. Of course that is only 4000. They have whittled it down to 60% now.

Once again a forum dies. I’ve seen this happen before.
Yea, I don't know what was wrong with here. I'm not adding another spot to my timewasters.

Snow started mixing in when we got off 95 in Fredericksburg VA. By 81 in Winchester it was all snow with the grass whitened. Roads ok but visibility not good. Hope you guys get it and it misses my house!

It’s time to crush baseball’s, not snowstorms!

Large part of CNY and ENY got Nam'd on 0z. Probably overdone and a bit too far W but most of the models are showing some really heavy banding potential. Folks in the Catskills and ADK better make sure their generators are in working order @Flying MXZ. Probably going to see some WSW issued by either tonight or following 12z runs tomorrow.
I’m coming back from Myrtle Beach Monday. I do NOT need this.

Yeah, that area doesn't have much at all and is far away from everything. Your new locale has that nicer proximity to Watertown while still getting good snows. Just to warn you, southerly winds off the higher elevations to your south on the Tug can lead to some rapid snowmelt there.
Somewhere on 177 in the Barnes Corners area is probably the closest you can get to the heart of tug hill and still have a normalish chance of getting to work. But 177 is closed plenty due to les storms.

Hey guys, so I am under contract for a house now. Assuming inspection goes well. The house is about 3.8 miles nw of Copenhagen, ny elev 1150’. Looks like on snow maps avg is 175”
You like to buy just outside of the big snow areas. But I get it, there isn’t much in the Redfield’s and Montague’s of the world.

The temp has been slowly falling here.
Now down to 37F and wet flakes are mixing in with the rain.
April!
Terrible morning here. Rain all morning, except when it turned to snow. Afternoon was better, but still a couple passing showers. One with either hail or graupel bouncing.

No, bring on the nice and warmer weather.
Agreed, and to hell with the severe weather. Give me nice dry weather for baseball, and just enough rain to keep things growing.

Another 2" overnight, 10" of snow since this weekend. Made it into the 50's finally!

So the parish house was a no go. One thing I've learned in this area, basements or any foundation below ground is a negative. Completely different than philly area, this area and drainage is terrible. Anyways, curious to get yours and @TugHillMatt thoughts on these 3 houses im looking at. These are in the rome area. 1 is about 9.5 miles northeast of rome or about 4 iles nw of holland patent. Nice house, it's up on a mtn, elev about 1250. The other is about 2 miles northwest of remsen, elev about 1350. Final one is about 2 miles west of west leydon, elev 1560. Whats nice about the west leydon house, its in the heart of the tug, but only 16 miles from Rome, which is hell of a lot better than lowville to watertown.
Snow wise, West Leyden is easily the winner. Definitely pretty rural, but like you said it’s not that far from Rome.

They are so much nicer now. My Civics were a 2002 and a 2007 and were pretty basic cars. I was driving 36,000 miles a year while I was working and wanted an inexpensive, reliable, good gas mileage car and the Civic checked all those boxes.
2017 Civic here. 0 option car I bought new. Been great except rotors rusting, and a/c compressor issues-but that one was warrantied. And I have a truck for the real wintry days.
Hope the snow avoids here. Although the roads were salted the other day for the freezing rain threat.

Sunday morning low was 34.3 and there was frost across the road on the neighbors lawn and roof. About 1/2 the June's around here I see frost somewhere.
