Gardasil ran phase I, II, and II trials with full approval. The total in the trials was around 50,000 people.
Zostavax ran about 80,000 total. Boostrix (dTAP booster) ran a total of 12,000.
Clinical trials do not run as many patients as people think.

Then why not just test all drugs for six weeks and blast them out there? Why even have a full auth process at all?
I'm sure all the major side effects show up in the six week period. Just call it quits after that.
LOL. Now you're just ranting non sense. I've said that studies would be done for 2-3 years with several hundred thousand people and a 6 in 6.5 million effect probably wouldn't be picked up. That's why pharma have whole department that follow a drug through its life cycle. Its called pharmacovigilance.

The old style vaccines like J&J and Astra are the ones having the side effects it seems.
I've told everyone here before. J&J and AZ vaccines aren't "old style". They are about as new as the mRNA type.

This is why vaccines are tested for years before full approval.
I'm not sure why you persist with this argument. I've told you that an event this rare would most assuredly not been picked up. I do know a little about what I'm talking about .

It would have probably only taken one person to get the blood clots while under observation to then give doctors more time to develop therapies to treat it. Tylenol has been around for decades and doctors understand how to treat issues that arise from it.
These types of side effects are, of course, unavoidable for a massive, rapid, worldwide vaccine rollout such as this, but the rushed nature of it for a disease that is usually very mild for everyone under 65 years old is going to exacerbate every little issue like this.
Some media and political figures have tried to assert that receiving this vaccine is as simple as using mouthwash in the morning and therefore there is "no excuse" for every healthy man, woman, and child to not run right out and get jabbed with the emergency use vaccine ASAP. I really hope there are no fertility or immune issues for people 5-10 years down the line...
We need to be focused on those most at risk first. Seems like we are running out of that demand pool, however.
Phin, you know I love ya dude. We're usually on the same page. Not this time. And yes, we know ho to treat blood clots.

Honestly from what I've seen, the Pfizer one is by far and away the best one for efficacy, safety, and least side effects.
Both RNA vaccines are pretty comparable. Moderna uses a touch higher RNA amounts. Probably why it has a little more after affects. I'm sure moderna and Pfiizer executives are off the walls this morning.

This is what happens when you sign up for a vaccine that was tested for six weeks and then rushed to market.
That's not quite a fair statement.
I've been in drug development over 20 years. I can safely say that there's no drug trial in the world that's big enough to pick up a 6 in 6.5 million side effect. Even if a trial ran 3-4 years with several hundred thousand people, that probably wouldn't have been picked up.
60 million people take Tylenol. On average, there are 50-60k people hospitalized and 500 deaths due to toxicity every year. Pick any drug approved drug on the market and you'll find some reaction.
The FDA will put in back on the market within a week.

The cool part is even if they lift mask mandates, you guys can just keep wearing them and no one will care! That's pretty awesome, right? Personal choice is amazing.
Some people should get out beyond 495 more and see how others live and think

I doubt we see mask mandates and certain restrictions lifted anytime soon in a lot of places.
Only in the usual suspect locations.

Don’t you think that gives a window into one of the reasons the USA has not done well with regard to spread. Our workplace norms are often inhumane.
And some people who work in a hospital setting just get a blanket PTO. There's no differentiation between sock time and vacation time. Who wants to eat into vacation time to take a couple days of with a bad cold when they can go to work and tough it out and use that PTO in the summer.
That needs to end.

This and streaming is why I'm a big investor in Disney. The streaming numbers are huge and parks are really just a drop in the bucket. All around great stock. Covers stay at home and reopening.
Does Disney actually move that much to make it a worthwhile investment?
Does it pay a dividend?

Its nowhere near a million. Or 6 million. The argument is that a side effect that affects 6 in almost 7 million would have been picked up in a trial. That's not true.
