  1. If I led my life according to the CDC, I wouldn’t enjoy a medium rare porterhouse, either.
  2. More mixed messaging. This morning Collins said that the main reason behind recommending vaxed people mask in areas of high spread is to protect those who are un vaxed. UH, no sorry. I’m not wearing a face diaper to protect people who refuse a vax. People who have refused them don’t want one and dont care. I have little compunction to alter my lifestyle for people who voluntarily refuse something.
  3. This isn’t likely, at least on any scale. The reported breakthrough cases have been mostly mild. ADE usually manifests as really nasty effects. This isn’t what’s been observed.
  4. Who knows. P-town get togethers like that are probably not the best indicators of Covid spread in crowds you might find elsewhere. A lot of close extracurricular activities occur that don’t occur elsewhere and aren’t talked about in the media.
  5. Deaths are clearly uncoupled from cases. Delta may be more contagious, but the morbidity and mortality are much lower. That’s what mutations do. Not unexpected.
  6. Yea, there’s zero context here. But I do think there’s a durability factor.
  7. Durability is an issue. Israel is vaxed with Pfizer, predominantly. Maybe Pfizer’s booster recommendation isn’t just based on greed. If I had to guess, their internal data shows durability drop off after 6-8 months. On the other hand, from what I’ve heard from The Moderna vax, from the literature and from my internal sources, looks to have better durability. The Moderna formulation uses 3 times the mRNA levels compared to Pfizer. That formulation probably gives a bigger initial immune response.
  8. Paper sticking for days. Just wipe and wipe. Bring it
  9. Ha, could be never thought of that. But those are the same PCs used to mine crypto. I just bought 3 new towers like what’s California et al just banned.
  10. That’s old news. What’s not reported is how many vaxed people were tested because they were sick vs those tested from a contact trace call that felt fine. I still maintain that just because you test positive by PCR, doesn’t mean your actually infected or shedding virus. That test to this day has never been validated against viral load measured by viral replication assays. The CDC,s assertion that vaxed people have as high a load in their nose as unvaxed people came from analyzing p-town data that showed similar Ct values for viral RNA. But what they didn’t do is to see if the asymptomatic vaxed people were actually infected. That’s a tougher one to do. But bottom line is all this new guidance and worry is based on 1) this one cluster in p-town, and 2) a PCR methodology that’s never been properly validated.
  11. That’s an issue for non gamers too. We use those gamer PCs with high capacity memory and graphics cards for artificial intelligence image analysis for cancer bio marker work. The commercial software we use requires that kind of power. The software we use is used in California too by several biotech and pharma companies including our San Diego office.
  12. Cocaine Mitch always looks spooked.
  13. I still need a status report on the toenail and how it resolved after the removal.
  14. They didn’t really in the UK. You can always mast**bate over a blip on a 16 month curve, but it doesn’t mean much
  15. Yup. Except for a few really whack job places like Oregon, there’s no will to do it. Besides, nobody is dying (except for the baseline/background that’s been there for months.
  16. They can’t. You know that. If they could have, it would have been done back in January. They’ve trampled on the constitution about as much as they can. States still have say in what goes on.
  17. I did what I just said not to do. I looked at the numbers. In almost every state I looked at, the deaths have been pretty much flat for 7-8 weeks. Even in Europe where cases have been up (and starting to drop btw) deaths have been flat with no spikes. I lol’ed at DC being masked up. They’re 7 day average is 61 positives, with 2 deaths in the last 10 days.
  18. Depends on what state you’re in and if you have a reasonable gov. The forever maskers aren’t happy with Baker. As much as I don’t care much for him in general, we’d be screwed if Healy or Curatone was gov. People need to stop worrying about it, stop watching cable news, stop with the worrying about positives, and move on with life. Problem is, the news, politicians and the hysterical won’t let the rest of us live life. This is now in the realm of hysteria.
  19. 2 week stay at the beach club, tickets for 4 people for 2 weeks, park hopper, and deluxe dining plan.
  20. If teachers want to voluntarily wear a mask, by all means, wear one.
  21. Of course Meri Najimy slammed the DESE for not mandating universal masking at school. I’m shocked, shocked I say the head of the union would take such a position. Lolololol
  22. They basically left it up to the districts.
