  1. I used to moonlight there when the path department got busy.
  2. Back when I was in and out of there with an ID badge, you had a sticker on the badge.
  3. Mass general has had that rule for a long time. Get a flu shot or wear a mask during flu season.
  4. My company requires once a week testing and masks if your not vaxed.
  5. You’re right. It’s either weekly or 2 times a week tests.
  6. I can’t smell anything anyway. Or not much. Too many years breathing formalin fumes in the path lab.
  7. They can’t control it in small countries either, not really.
  8. My son had a cold last week. Not severe. Lasted 4 days. Runny nose and sneezing. No fever? Delta? I dunno. Don’t care. Nobody else in the house got sick.
  9. You know I’m a huge proponant of the vax for a lot of reason. And I think everybody eligible should get it. But, for the CDC to start throwing out things like worse than Ebola and smallpox, that’s in the least irresponsible and borderline criminal. Now you’re going to have people running around scared that this is another wave of smallpox like disease.
  10. It’s a big stick and scare tactics to get more people vaxed.
  11. From what he mass dept of health just put out, no across the board mandate.
  12. Here’s what the health department in mass just came out with. Baker will reiterate the following: In a statement, state health officials said, "In light of the information provided by the CDC, and in order to maximize protection of vulnerable individuals from the Delta variant, the Department of Public Health released updated guidance today that recommends that a fully vaccinated person wear a mask or face covering when indoors (and not in your own home) if you have a weakened immune system, or if you are at increased risk for severe disease because of your age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in your household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease, or is unvaccinated." So basically do what you think is best. It’s your choice. That’s what it should be. I’ll give the Mass Dept of Health and Baker credit. They didn’t go off the deep end.
  13. DESE just came out with guidence. It RECOMMENDED that k-6 wear masks indoors but not outdoors or indoors when eating. All UNVAXED staff, teachers and students in 7th grade and above are urged to wear masks. All VAXED students, teachers and staff 7th and above there’s no recommendation to wear masks.
  14. So now the CDC says that delta is more contagious than MERS, SARS, Ebola, the common cold, the seasonal flu and smallpox, and it is as contagious as chickenpox. They recommend anyone with weak immune systems mask anywhere, even in areas of low transmission. Cambridge will have me back in a mask at work by Monday ugh They also have an internal report that’s says universal masking is essential. So blue will mask, red won’t. Same old thing.
  15. I think he’ll leave it up to towns and cities to decide.
  16. Govt contractors are mandated. I guess you’ll be going to the local jab shack (ie CVS)
  17. Lots of good data could be mined from the p- town cases. Is there a correlation with which vax was taken? How many of the positives were actually sick vs those that had exposure, were asymptomatic, and tested because of contact tracing. The biggest takeaway is out of close to 1000 cases, only 7 went to the hospital and from what I understand most were released already. And no deaths. Again, this will turn out similar to transmitting a head cold.
  18. Curatone is another usual suspect who’d do it. You know who he is, right?
  19. It’s a she and she is the mayor of Cambridge.
  20. I don’t care what Janey does. My concern is Sumbul Siddiqui
  21. He’s not right. He’s cooked.
  22. I understand that. My point is they’ll use the cases as reasoning to put us in masks again. Putting my faith in Baker not to is tough, but like I said yesterday, he’ll be under a ton of pressure to do it. Hopefully he won’t give in. Honestly, I would care if he did, I’d ignore it. But I couldn’t ignore it at work.
