If we had a foot of snowpack and the winds died down we would def see below zero tonight!

Down to 8.2. Power has gone out 5 times, but has thankfully come back on each time. Dam dish takes 10 minutes to reset each time.

Temp. down to 24 in western Loudoun and extremely windy.

Wind just started to really crank up.
-
Came through here in western Loudon with just rain and not much wind to speak of.
-
Emptied the rain gauge so it would not freeze. 2.65" for the event.

My wood stove is going full blast right now . Unfortunately so is my heat pump. Just can't win.

I have a log home in the very northwestern part of Loudoun County (between the hills) off of Harpers Ferry Road at 725'. My great room ceiling is 24' high and I heat with my wood stove whenever possible. My wall of windows faces west and I will get slammed with this frontal passage and will probably loose power - happens often. 75% of what I burn is black locust. When it gets cold, I really have to crank the wood stove to keep my propane furnace from coming on.

Times like now I'm really happy I'm sitting on 8 cords of dry oak.
I've got about six cords of seasoned black locust.

Nice snow squall around 6:00. Temp dropped from 45 to 35 in like 5 minutes. Ground went white almost instantly.

lets face it--this storm is pretty much a disaster. The WWA was the correct call
You need to move from eastern to western Loudoun! Great storm out here. Mod. to heavy snow since 6:00am. Probably in excess of 3", but hard to tell because it is so wind blown.
