Come this time tomorrow, I'll either be in the RIC area (preferably west end, which tends to do better climo speaking), or staying right here at home. Either way, with another Niña year, if I have to chase for snow, so be it.

If you plan to visit the short pump, you may to ask them for permission.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’d like snow nearly as much in a place that gets it usually. It’s sorta important it feels like home. But I might change my mind under a lake effect snow band in the future!

That’s about how I feel about snow too. It’s almost like living beach year around…unsure I could truly appreciate the good moments if my favorite times became the norm

Makes sense. He knows NY, and a good manager. Probably couldn't have made a better choice given the options.

Somewhat agree although at some point it’s  time to stop recycling these old white guys and try to find a sleeper. May need a Rooney rule in baseball at some point…

    Yup…they’re playing at Allianz Field.

It’s a bit of a gamble since it could be unreal cold that time of year, but if it’s seasonable then it’ll just be cold.

    Oof that sounds brutal.

Never bag. Too much work with the leaf load I have here. I mulch a bit at the beginning and end of leaf season. Blowing is where its at, as I am in the middle of the woods, so I just push them back where they belong.

    Smart man.

Right around the arena?  I don't think there are any hotels with open indoor pools around there.  The Hyatt Regency at 400 New Jersey Ave NW on Capitol Hill, a few blocks from Union Station, has an indoor pool that appears to be open, although you should check directly first; or the Homewood Suites by Hilton close to the Navy Yard Metro station might be an option as well.  Personally, I'd recommend looking around the Navy Yard area for restaurants that may catch your interest since the area has certainly changed since you were last here.  The area directly around Union Station, besides Union Station itself, is pretty sparse for family-friendly options although I'm pretty sure they let kids into the Dubliner.

That being said, Metro is a bit of a mess these days, with longer times between trains on all lines due to problems they've discovered with the 7000 series cars.

Thanks so much. I haven’t caught a game since arenas/Jamison/butler days. I guess these days probably easier to Uber although my 2yo would probably dig the metro.

I can be further away from the arena was just looking for something that is simple to stumble back to lol. I’ll check out both of those options you recommended. Appreciate it
