  7. yeah thats nice. we just had to make a call before it got too close and we'd lose out on getting our money back. we really wanted to go, and had we been in a house to ourselves we may have still gone. but being in a condo building really put us on edge. just better to stay home and be safe, then go and have the worst happen.
  8. We had a Myrtle trip planned in september that we cancelled. We were staying in a condo and just didn't want to spend every single day at the beach and not go do much else, just wasn't worth the money. hopefully next year we can all go on our vacations again
  9. fine by me, the pool is our saving grace this summer. longer it stays open and warm, the better our sanity.

  12. spent the first half of the day staking out silt fencing for a site in Baltimore. Was nice to get out of the house for a few hours and see the wonderful industrial park that is the port of baltimore area.

  16. Thank you to those ITT who have been prudent following trips and going to get tested and stay away from others for a bit. we need more people like you!

  20. got clipped by a storm around 730 that dropped out of PA but missed me east. Nothing else otherwise.
  21. hi friend! hope you are well too -- doing our best here!
  22. i believe i read the same. they didn't change it for any set of people though, they did it because they were losing money. thats all that matters... the money. sigh.
  23. thanks for your insight and views, PSU. to be fair, teaching kindergarteners isn't hard. while virtual learning sucks as a whole, we had a rather simple time teaching first grade stuff. on to second now for the fall. Phineas has a point that for some, its an easy decision. My family is incredibly lucky, and I have said it many times, as we can both work from home without issue. haven't missed paychecks, bills are getting paid. however, i have the empathy to feel for others, so while virtual learning won't be horrible for us, it will be for many others and both county and state governments need to step in and help with the load. i know a lot has been done since spring to now, but there will still be problems. and there is no easy decision, unless you go the homeschooling altogether route, as many are. One of my nearest and dearest friends will be without a job because school is going virtual. she works with special needs kids and without in-class time, she cannot do anything to help them virtually and the county will no longer pay her. the county has their own special-needs plan in place that eliminates her position all together. it sucks all around, for many. But yes, to each their own. Everyone's level of risk is different, they know what's best for their family and will plan for that.
