29/14, after a high of 33. Precip overhead per radar, virga tho. 2-4 IMBY sounds fun, highest totals will be west of me imo

my head exploded a decade plus ago when i saw them for the first time. i give the man credit, to create maps that consistently awful to interpret is rather impressive.

The official BCPS policy is 4 snow days then asynchronous, not sure they will be able to get around that. They've used 1 day so far.
BCPS is actually 3 snow days before virtual learning kicks in. The virtual learning days would be on a 2hr delay schedule.

2-4 by morning up here will mean another snow day for BCPS. They can't do a delay as they were already getting out 3hrs early for the end of the marking period. What a fun week for the kids!

Now that’s what I call a screwjob. Everyone gets more than an inch and I get less.
Life ain’t fair.
I liked the h5 better though. Hope it’s the start of a surprise last minute trend.
And I have covid. That’s all.
Hope it's mild for you! I am on the downside of having it, I think. Today is the best I have felt since Sunday. Hang in there!

I recognize none of those towns on that map outside DC, Richmond and Baltimore. Are those real places?
Yes, all real. Google Maps is fun to just zoom around and learn some things. Google Earth even better! Check them out sometime.

So, if one of the more knowledgeable people here is able to help out - this sounding here from NAM, in Baltimore during what appears to be best reflectivity:
Contrary to yesterday's storm, flakes should be healthier IF this was to pass? Feels like only thing keeping it from being an even bigger surprise was getting pixie dust most of the time. I am under the impression deflection of the dewpoint at a layer would be a dryslot, and it looks better here - or am I looking in the wrong place?
Also I'm sure soundings are far too early at this point for the NAM but trying to learn!
I think so, temp/dew is much closer together, thus better saturation within the column and usually a good dendritic growth zone. further apart the dew/temp is, less moisture in the column, smaller flakes, less accumulation when precip rates are light.

Backstory. I'm a huge Superman (Chris Reeves, I'm old) fan. Andy and Katie know I hate Superman 3 and 4 with a deep unreasonable passion, especially the 4th. Every time it comes on TV, a little bit of me dies inside.
oh man I forgot about Superman 4, def #2 in the bunch. No idea how you dislike them so much. 1 and 2 have nothing on them.

I love you dearly, but you just don't know how close you are to a ban.
Pretty sure Superman 3 was the best of the bunch.

11 minutes ago, Ralph Wiggum said:Feel well soon. My wife had it 3 days after Christmas. About 10 days testing positive. Somehow the kids and myself avoided it. Oddly, my kids and myself had it 2 summers ago and the wife never caught it. I can only assume the kids and I had built up some resistance. So with that said, drink plenty of liquids. This will only make ya more strong!

Thanks all. Its fairly mild, just assumed it was a head cold until Mr. Map suggested I take a test. Good to know, just an annoyance. But could be worse, so I am trying not to complain about it too much.
