Like that 2010 storm that retrograded WSW and crushed NYC.
Exactly the one I was thinking of when he posted that. What a storm that was around here

It is? Doesn't look like it on the map posted above. At the time, looks like it runs just south of DC.
I agree. Based on the posted map both the 0 degree isotherm and the 540 line are south of DC

Is everyone in here freaking out about a south Trend north of DC/VA?
Yup

The 5 people expecting the big event won't be convinced ever to temper expectations im not really sure what Ralph is doing other than maybe trying to keep himself in check or maybe project out so others can feel his angst.
After the last few winters we all need coping strategies

The blocking IS easing. Thats why there is the potential. But just weakened NAO alone doesn't always yield a KU. Need alot of pieces to come together. Look, I'm not trying to crap in anyone's Wheaties....just trying to temper expectations for all of us. Im confident we get some snow, I just think with the complexity of the flow, hoping for a blockbuster event is a dangerous road to take. We have been down that road recently. Keep things in check for a few more days....but most folks here are already aware of this.
Especially 5-6 days from the actual event. I'm keeping my expectations rock bottom until at least Friday.

Nobody is going to win them all. Legit happy for those seeing some accumulating snow tonight, especially if you haven’t had any in a while

Sabillasville is a gold spot as well.
It sure is. That whole stretch from Emmittsburg through Sabillasville through Smithsburg (Washington County) is great.

Hi neighbor!
Hi!
Hoping that you all up in Middletown are able to do a bit better today with your elevation. We wanted to move to Middletown a few years ago but it didn't work out. Best place to be in Frederick County for events like this

I can hardly remember a day with less diurnal variation than today. So far a low of 30.4 and a high of 35.2. A spread of merely 4.8 degrees.
Sitting nicely at 34.5 / 22.8 while waiting for it to start.

Been holding very steady at 30.7 all morning. Starting to drizzle now.
-
Been below freezing since about 6pm yesterday (after only making it to 37) so the ground here should be sufficiently cool. I'll take whatever I can get at this point.

I have more snow than the Jets have wins....this season
Speeding down the highway towards Trever Lawrence and his flowing hair. Can't wait to see them destroy another young QB within 2 years.
