  1. Hawaii has one of the country’s most comprehensive mask mandates and a highly effective vaccine campaign. Despite that, Covid-19 cases on the islands are climbing with a ferocity that’s outstripping every other U.S. state
  2. While vaccinations still appear to reduce a person’s overall risk of catching the delta variant, research published Friday by Public Health England (PHE) found early evidence that people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 may be able to transmit the hyper infectious strain just as easily as those who aren’t.
  3. Anybody been watching the Olympic golf? What the hell is that noise cicadas? What happened to our outbreak?
  4. At least the deer flies won't be out until daybreak.
  5. Link to any study that indicates it's "stronger"?
  6. My grandmother says orientals have the highest rate of vaccination.
  7. Raining again. I thought this was supposed to clear out by noon? Worst summer ever...
  8. How so? A study published June 14 in the journal The Lancet examined the impact of the delta variant in Scotland, where it had become the dominant strain. 10. Last 8:00 pm sunset . Another step down for summer. At least it was a nice one...
  11. My feeling is if they want to get sick let them. I've likely had it and been vaccinated on top of it. The newest study, not peer reviewed, indicates that unvaccinated folks are only twice as likely to catch the virus. Who knows if that will come down even more.
  12. Pretty sure the breakthrough cases are under reported. Played golf with four guys last week and then went out for dinner and drinks. Two of the guys came down with breakthrough cases. The third tested negative. I didn't even bother getting tested.
  13. I do know the CDC stopped reporting on breakthrough cases back in May unless they were hospitalized or had died.
