Plenty of cold weather helped Berkshire East, Mt Snow etc. lay a good base.  We can’t really afford too many of these warm days though because it’s a pretty small bank account as far as base depth goes.

I am not a huge IMBY guy for snow totals.  Sure I like a lot of snow but I’m OK with getting shafted if the nearby mountains get snow and that just hasn’t been the case this year.  I like snowshoeing and backcountry skiing but I don’t often have the luxury to drive two or three hours to find the goods.  I rely on the Berkshires the Southern Greens and the Monads and it’s been tough in all of those areas.
Whatever, we might still get a good storm or two in, otherwise hopefully blocking doesn’t show up to create April misery.
I’ll still get outside and do things no matter what the weather.

Quite the model war for the long range. GEFS are still very meridional and cold into 2nd half of February while EPS torches us.

We've had multiple torch looks this winter that have yet to appear.

Low temp bust in Eastern MA this morning?

I think I was forecasted for low single digits, but I have 10.4 where I am in Newtonville.

Yeah it was off by a few. 8 here was supposed to be closer to zero.

  4. The recent blizzard was the second largest January snowstorm on record at Blue Hill Observatory in Milton, officials said.

“That’s pretty darn big,” said Charles Orloff, the executive director of the Blue Hill Observatory.

The 27.1 inches of snowfall measured at Blue Hill on Jan. 29 also broke the record for the highest calendar day snowfall ever measured in January at the observatory. It beat out the previous record of 25.2 inches that was set on Jan. 27, 2015.

Orloff said the observatory was staffed around the clock for 30 hours in a row during the blizzard.

“We measure snow every six hours,” Orloff said.

Final call. We kept our original forecast pretty much the same with amounts just tilted the axis of snowfall a bit to orient it more SW to NE. Tri-state area stayed very similar with the 12-20" range extending farther west across long island.
