  1. HRRR looks like the focus will be on the coast and not really much around here except for some scattered activity late in the day. We shall see. Friday evening appears to have some potential. Looks like generally dry though for the next 5 days before we commence Round 2 on Monday.
  2. Think it's going to be hard to reach that simply because of the timing of this upcoming break. We could pick up a bit more tomorrow, but then probably not very much Thursday through Sunday, which basically takes us right into August.
  3. But I heard someone say it wasn't raining enough.
  4. The good news is that it seems like we are going to get a break that wasn't really expected several days ago, and it looks like a significant break at that. It looks like once we get through today, and definitely tomorrow, it's mostly dry for 3-4 days.
  5. Pretty impressive plume heading right up and just east of 95 right now.
  6. Picked up exactly 2 inches between yesterday and overnight. Was actually surprised the total wasn't higher because it rained really hard for various periods between 8 and 11 last night, and then it was coming down hard when I woke up this morning as well. My area must have been skipped over mostly overnight.
  7. I'd imagine I had well under half an inch in the rain gauge today (hadn't even bothered to check) but I'm making up for it in a hurry. It's been dumping for almost a half hour now.
  8. FWIW, seemed like HRRR really ramps things up overnight into the morning.
  9. Didn't even realize it rained overnight but picked up another .9. I'm right around 7 inches through the past two days, though it remains to be seen if we will get much today.
  10. I ended up just over 6 as I did manage to pick up 2 additional inches last night with that final push. I think BWI reported just under 6 so seems accurate and BWI always seems to report low.
  11. Closing in on 4.5 inches. Should easily top 5 as that heavy band rotates into Baltimore. Guess I could hit 6 if it stuck around awhile.
  12. DCA checking in with 2.1 inches...….of snow.
  13. About 2 inches here. Guessing I may be able to double that total considering it should rain harder as the day progresses. HRRR really likes the Baltimore area around 7-9 pm for a deluge.
  14. Unless it's showing 3 feet of snow, then hug it and don't let go.
  15. HRRR very impressive right over Baltimore. Someone likely topping a half foot of rain from this.
  16. Weird. I'm right in the purple stripe but don't remember it being a big deal. However, wasn't that a storm that flooded downtown Ellicott City? It wasn't anything like we saw in the last two flash floods with water raging down the road, but I think there was some of that to a much lesser degree and there was some minor flooding/damage down by the Patapsco at the bottom of Main Street.
  17. GFS looks a little less impressive than last two runs.
  18. 3K isn't as impressive as the others but NAM really likes some big rain for us tomorrow.
  19. Models seemed to have locked into a more westerly solution and a very soggy Saturday here. Whether it's enough to cause flooding is another question. It looks like the system moves quite quickly through the area, so I'm guessing that will limit the amount of rainfall we get. Think I'm skipping the beach this weekend though. Saturday will be a washout and Sunday looks iffy with rain and I'm guessing it will also be rather cool and breezy.
  20. Saturday is definitely trending wetter, maybe even flooding type rains, with each model run. 18z is pretty impressive even for our area. Sunday looks better though.
  21. Thinking about OCMD for Friday through Sunday. Thoughts? Friday looks great, Saturday looks like a total washout and Sunday is ?
  22. I did pretty well yesterday. Had a few loud cracks of thunder, a little wind, and some periodically heavy downpours. Had storms develop just to my east to start the day and then slowly re-develop back toward me, and then had a final group of cells push through a couple hours later. There was actually a STW with the last cell but it kinda died out some as it rolled through. Needed some rain though, so that was nice.
  23. I don't think people were upset because they were expecting huge snowstorms. I think they were upset because there WERE huge snowstorms and they danced around us. The opportunities were there. The beaches had a legit blizzard. Areas along the Jersey Coast and north of there got a big storm or two. It was so close yet so far, which is where my frustration came from. If everyone was swinging and missing during a crappy pattern, that's not unexpected.
  24. GFS seems to like this event for at least some decent rain but NAM is not all that impressed and HRRR is really nothing unless you are in Central PA.
  25. Yeah HRRR is very impressive this evening and then again overnight into tomorrow morning
