26/20. Really? I either need to move way far north or way far west on a night like this. Assuming no nightmare scenarios of falling trees and power outages from this piece of garbage, might actually enjoy the next storm--if it stays mostly snow. I'll take my third crash and burn now, thank you.

27/20. Temps moving in the wrong direction.

27/21 on Green Hill Worcester. Roads are fine still but some surfaces are starting to get a little slick. Barest trace of icing on tree branches. It was 36 in Northborough (about 10 miles east and 400 feet lower). No icing when I was there with the wife earlier this afternoon. The reading seems to high looking at local temps, but there was no ice on any of the surfaces (including car windows etc) while we were out.

My second crash and burn in a week! LOL

Going to make sure to take anything subject to rotting off my cellar floor! The Christmas storm's melting snow and semi frozen ground flooded me for only the third time in almost 25 years. If it stays 40 or below the snow soaks most of it up (still have 10-12 inches or so on the ground). If it goes up to 50 with heavy rain.... Still better than having an ice laden tree fall on the house. OT: My mother's side of the family is from Oklahoma. What an incredible scene down there. I think they've broken their seasonal snowfall records due to December and January evets.

Sounds like it isn't going to be a destroyer like 2008. Resigning myself to it.

There is a difference between a forecast and hope. Some of us enjoy the fun stuff ( a big snowstorm predicted well in advance), but do not particularly want to endure weeks long power outages in winter (2008), watch our homes get blown away in a hurricane or tornado, or experience any other life threatening nightmare. COVID had been quite sufficient for me.

Either snow or rain please. Too old to lift 50 lb shovels full of sleet. Saw enough destruction in 1964, 2008 in New England.

Here's to 35F and rain in Worcester. I've been through 3 terrible ice storms. I'll take anything over it.

Sleet for Worcester or ice? I'll take snow or plain rain over either, but sleet is better than tree shattering fzra.

23/25 light snow.

Great day. Great little storm for us here in Worcester. Added to the pack and more coming. I'll take a few 2-4 inch falls every few days to keep winter feeling like winter without knocking flat on our haunches with a series of monster storms. 2015 was fantastic in a lot of ways, but it was a nightmare trying to find places to put it all in an urban environment. I'll take this and below freezing temps. On the other hand, I'd be lying if I said a 36" monster wouldn't be exciting. Anyhow great day. Great storm. Great discussions. And I didn't have to regret cancelling after all.

About 6 here on Green Hill....maybe a tad more. Just end of storm light stuff now. Looks far more impressive on what we already had on the ground. Very little melting here over the past two weeks. Mostly settling, but since the pack is pretty dense, it's not too noticeable.

6"+ here. On top of the 12-15" left over from the last two storms, it looks nice. 27/26. light to moderate snow now here. Looks like the end of it is on us now. Any amounts for those who were under that band? Gotta be more than twice what we got here. Glad for them. Happy for us. A nice white layer must practically cover New England from top to bottom.

Glad to hear you are finally getting your snowstorm James. Looks like a lot of us in SNE are happy. Always glad when the Cape snow lovers get in on the game.

Some pictures from about 30 mins ago here. Snow seems to be getting heavier now. Birds have been crowding the feeder off and on all day. The local hawks are grounded.

Are you still up on Winter Hill? Not more than a couple of miles as the crow flies from me.

26/24. Eyeballing a couple of inches. Nice steady moderate snowfall. Nothing too crazy here but low visibility. Figuring small flake size and fog explain accumulation. Nice refresher.

26/22. Snow, visibility about a quarter mile. Flakes are tiny. Less than an inch new. Snow started just before 11 here.

27/12 here with moderate snow. Looks like cancelling was the right thing to do regardless of amounts. Wouldn't want people out on the roads an hour from now.

Its the people who miss out on something important to them that matters, not the damn snow. Emotionally, I could care less about the forecast fail or the amount of snow on the ground. Its fun when it works out and just fine when it doesn't. But like elections, forecasts have consequences. Not blaming anyone (God, mets, luck, whatever). BTW, drive on up and take a ride around beautiful Worcester County next week. We should still have plenty left on the ground if you don't.

And it looks like we cancelled for vapors. Snow after noon 1-3 inches. Figures. Time to retire.

When does BOX update their snowfall maps?
