  1. Just put this dreaded season out of its misery already. I’m ready for 65+ and golden tanned faces after a long walk up and down the driveway. Let’s gooooo baby!
  2. It’s a special feeling in the midst of a very special time of year.
  3. You know it’s coming torch. Soon we must learn to reembrace our inner trench foot combined with sweaty mullets, for old times sake. The prophets of ancient past are acutely aware of the inevitable zone of suck that is bound to arrive without hesitation, on the first week of April in coastal New England. We know what must be done when the time is right!
  4. I think we may to bring old Bruce and the boys out of retirement soon if that number goes up any higher.
  5. Yeah this’ll make my trip to visit family in NC a little sweeter not too long from now. That straight up cold and dryness really does get old after a while..plus the bottom of the driveway is a solid sheet of ice. Not good for doing much of anything outside these days. The sun did feel noticeably strong today on the old nape haha.
  6. Batten down the hatches! I’m racing to the store to grab my last minute eggs and Cheetos as we speak.
  7. Glad this one is wrapping up. Snow to rain is an absolute bitch to shovel. Just a half inch of slush might as well be ten inches of regular fluff. But hey on the bright side, I can still see just a smidge of light outside. We’ll take the good with a little nasty! Enjoy your vaca btw Ken..I’ve family down in Aruba right now, just a little jealous of their latest warm adventures haha
  8. I tell ya what no matter what happens over the next several weeks weather wise, I’m eagerly looking forward to tippys annual nape posts as the sun continues to grow a little stronger day by day. It really takes the sting off of shoveling a few inches of slush or if we’re lucky a good mound of powdery goodness! This active pattern is sure to bring a few surprises in the weeks ahead.
  9. Caught this unusual sighting at one of our feeders earlier. I’m pretty sure it was a male robin but def cool to see this time of year! The birdies have been absolutely frantic out there the last month or so.
  10. Days and days of cold rain with an occasional sloppy finish. Should be a fun time around here..
  11. Low enough to send the old family jewels back into hiding..yeah it’s that cold out!
  12. Even if we only ended up with about an inch and a half of fluff, it was still very cool to see snow finally coming down. It really helps break up the monotony of this cold and mostly dry pattern we’ve been stuck in for the last couple weeks. And it’s barely enough to have to worry about shoveling. A big win all around imo.
  13. Ok, wind you can chill the f out now..we get it polar vortex, you want us to suffer whenever we dare step outdoors. But you know it’d be really friggin cool if you know, you could just calm it down for an hour, capiche?
  14. Believe me my friend, it has started to cross my mind quite a bit in recent years. Half my family has already made the move and in all honesty, I might just end up doing the same before long. These skinny bones can’t handle the cold like they used to. I still love a good old fashioned powdery snowstorm on the odd occasion but my youthful enthusiasm for long winters has sadly started to wane in recent times. Don’t let my warm bias kill the rejuvenated spirit around these parts. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such well placed enthusiasm for actual winter threats on this humble board!
  15. Can we just stop for a bit and appreciate how nice it felt out there today. I probably had the nicest walk since last September with no wind, a little bit of sun and even a slight trickle of sweat on my forehead after coming back. I know the snow is cool and all but man the vibe is just so different when it’s like this outside. I hope everyone got a chance to enjoy it even for just a little while. It really takes the edge off during the darkest of days!
  16. Pass that bong right over here Jeb. I want a hit of what you’re smoking homie.
  17. This f’ing blows. It’s too cold to do anything out unless you enjoy the feeling of freezing your balls off. It does feel like winter, I’ll give y’all that much. At least the daylight (the part that matters) is slowly swinging in the other direction, thank the lord for that!
  18. Still raining lightly here with a few sleet pellets mixed in. I’m perfectly with an all rain event right now with all the wrapping and cleaning up done around the house today. Let’s save that crap for after Christmas please. Very nice pics from everyone else btw, enjoy the white magic!
  19. I tell ya, it felt pretty damn nice walking outside earlier in a light jacket without feeling the sting of the cold and wind in my face. I know its not to be expected this time of year but man I don’t how anyone truly enjoys freezing their balls off in the bitter cold, without the snow to brighten the landscape. I think the little yipper appreciates the brief reprieve too..lots of long sniffs on the side of the road during our walk!
  20. We’ve clearly got the cold, now where’s the friggin snow to go with it! I’ve had this same existential dread since I was a kid this time of year lol.
