  1. 73/72 The summer of sweaty co cs is just getting revved up!
  2. Glad to hear of everyone getting some beneficial rain. All friendly banter aside I just can’t get enough of the warm, gentle breezes that I’ve grown accustomed to this time of year and at this time of night. It is truly a special time of year as all the sights and sounds of the summer season never fail to put a big fat smile on my face. However, I could do without seeing certain women walking around in ill fitting clothes if you catch my drift.
  3. We’re enjoying every moment of it baby. This is how summer is meant to be. Keep that skin shriveling dryness where it belongs, in the desert southwest!
  4. I know I’m probably staying the obvious for this time of year but I’ll tell ya when the sun is out like it was today, with hardly a cloud in the sky, it is friggin hot..like burning hot! I was down by the waterfront in scituate today and you had to get right in front of the ocean practically, to feel any relief. Maybe I’m just not used to this kind of weather after the swamps of Louisiana decided to pay us a visit much of last summer but man the sheer intensity of that big ball of warmth can’t be denied at this early point in the season. I’m sure tippy can describe in much greater eloquence than myself why this is the case lol.
  5. We just getting started baby. I can’t wait to see all the swampy tooshes and heavy breathing going on in the days ahead as the giant sauna of heavy swampiness inevitably descends upon our humble homesteads! I shall embrace its joyous arrival with a shirtless walk in our mosquito infested neighborhood much to the horror of modest ladies and their perplexed husband's.
  6. Heck of a light show right now after another soaking. Weird how we always seem to get so much more lightning on the backside of these convective bands.
  7. Already seeing some flashes of lightning and rumbles..she comin!
  8. Man that line is just trucking east. Completely different animal from the meandering line of storms that formed earlier. I would not want to be on the roads on a night like this.
  9. Looks like it’s shifting south and east a bit. I can only imagine the intensity of the rainfall for those who happen to get underneath that moisture feed. Our poor little dog is gonna have a rough night with all the rumbles off in the distance.
  10. Boomers everywhere, sticky buns, giant frogs hopping around and a nice glass of cool lemonade while sitting out on the porch, watching the chaos unfold..what more could you ask for this time of year?
  11. Nice sneaky little band of rain coming from a very unusual direction, this time of year. But hey we’ll take a little moisture, no complaints at all. Where was all this a month ago, with layers of pollen practically sticking to every surface imaginable?
  12. It’s starting to feel like last summer once again with the moisture and dews picking up all around. And you know what, I’m loving every minute of it!
  13. I tell ya the poor beech trees have really taken a beating these last few years with that disease going around and of course all this moisture up until recently has been decimating a good number of them in our area. Thankfully, we have a pretty good variety of trees in our heavily wooded area but I feel for those who aren’t as lucky. I can’t help but wonder if that dreaded term climate change is playing a role in some of these anomalies or if perhaps people are just more aware of their surroundings due to social media and those observations are being relayed at an ever faster pace, creating the illusion of doom and gloom. I’ll let the actual experts around here fill in the rest of the devilish details.
  14. Just incredible, we go from dead silent and tropical to gusty winds and a noticeably moister airmass in just a few minutes. Gotta love early summer convection, especially as it happens right in front of you! We could really use a good soaking right now too.
  15. Just sitting out here watching the birds, bees and fat squirrels with a glass of Seagram’s in my hand. Couldn’t ask for a better day to be outdoors, taking in all the sights and sounds of this glorious season. Might head down to the water in a bit once the doggies are fed.
  16. It’s a beautiful scorcher out there today baby! I’m embracing every moment of this sultry delightfulness that has taken hold of our area. Let’s keep this love train going for the next three months!
  17. Day 3 of our sweaty cocfest is about to commence. Let’s goooo!
  18. The epic season of summer yore has just begun. Soon, massive dust clouds interlaced amidst waves of low hanging ozone and haze shall consume us all! This will be one for the record books that even village elders will pass on for many years to come!
  19. Not bad for this time of day. We’re at least a few miles away from this station and practically in the woods/swamps so tack on a couple more degrees and a little more dewiness and we have ourselves a classic early summer day. The bugs have been unbelievable out there me too, even despite the lack of rainfall in recent weeks. Gotta remember to pack the bug spray for my next excursion into the woods.
  20. Yeah I’d honestly have no idea the type of heat that’s coming after a day like today. It almost feels like late April or early May despite the very high sun angle.
  21. Getting some pretty decent banding here as the storm pulls away. What a relief it is to finally get some steady moisture after what seems like two weeks of barely anything. Probably gonna end up with just under an inch on the day. We take before the big bake!
  22. Looks like round two is about to blow through..thank goodness as round one was hardly worth a mention earlier. Let’s get those streams of pollen splashed on angry dog walkers baby!
  23. Caught this big guy at the birdbath earlier trying to get some relief from the stein fest that has taken hold round these parts. Any fellow bird watchers want to chime in and enlighten me as to what exactly this is? My gut is telling me it’s either a raven or a blackbird but honestly I’m not totally sure.
  24. When I think of summer, dps in the 50s and comfortable temps don’t come to mind. If I want that boring, stale crap I wait for the darkening, depressing fall months to descend upon me. It may sound a little strange but a big part of me enjoys the dank, sweaty days of the summer season. If I want, I can simply drive 15 minutes to the beach or even just run around like a madman in a sprinkler without an ounce of shame. And when that’s all set and done, I can walk around in shorts and a tee shirt late in the evening and feel the lightness and pure blissfulness of the warm air around me. Because that’s what a season that I wait nearly 9 months for is all about. And you know what, I wouldn’t have it any other way baby.
  25. A wall of fog literally just rolled in here about a half hour ago. I guess at this point we'll take whatever moisture we can get to keep some of the dust clouds of pollen at bay. Amazing how different it feels compared to this time yesterday.
