  1. That too but more so the bugs coming out of the woodwork and scaring the heck out of us when we least expect it! I don’t mind the toads though. I’ve started seeing a few of those tubby amphibians popping up during my evening walks with the dog. Those things don’t budge no matter what lol.
  2. And you know what follows once the sun finally comes out of hiding..
  3. I say if it’s gonna rain, let it pour baby. I want to see crocodiles and hippos floating down my street with my fat neighbor floating by on his raft yelling obscenities at me while I take another sip of my mudslide and dismissively tip my glass at him. Just imagine the madness!
  4. Let’s shift some of that steady moisture further east about 100 miles. We’ve probably picked up about 3/4 inch from just quick hitting showers+downpours, but it pales in comparison to what others have got.
  5. The infamous zone of suck rears its ugly head once again. Folks in the interior think I’m full of it but if you walk outside it’s like standing on the side of a fishing boat with a bunch of salty, pudgy men wondering where it all went wrong.
  6. I take back what I said..just had a couple good rumbles here, maybe another downpour or two to keep things interesting?
  7. Congrats to everyone who got in on the action but as usual with these west-east tracks, just a quick shower here. Hardly enough to wash away one of the many layers of pollen starting to build. Heck of a day though before the clouds started building!
  8. Every friggin year, like clockwork! The zone of suck never fails to disappoint in coastal New England. Somewhere deep in the archives of Mayan mythology lies an entire book on this disturbingly predictable phenomenon that seems to occur with such regularity and precision that one could almost tune their half naked daily walks in the yard to its expected arrival!
  9. My poor dog is totally gone wake up soon with the thunder. I swear she has a sixth sense for when storms are approaching too. My poncho is ready!
  10. Actually had to turn the car ac on for a bit after pulling out of the lot earlier. That thing was a friggin furnace after opening up the door lol. Imagine if we had dps in the upper 60s or higher!
  11. Incredible, it’s such a different world in the northern reaches of New England, even now. Totally looking forward to those glorious shots of the mountain vista once the endless days of warmth and sun take over!
  12. The trend is our friend..get your ponchos and rowboats ready, she coming!
  13. I keep ‘em closed at night. As a certified insomniac, the sound of the birds screeching at 5am is enough to drive me mad. I don’t understand why they feel the need to cause such a ruckus at the ass crack of dawn everyday. Whatever they’re discussing at that ungodly hour couldn’t possibly be so urgent!
  14. Dumpage..and now the birds are chirping. Yep we’re getting deeper into spring by the day!
  15. Once that dewy meter crosses 70 and your toosh starts sticking to the patio chair and you can barely move to dodge a rogue bat chasing a giant mosquito, then you know we’re officially into that glorious season. We’re getting there though..slow and steady baby!
  16. Honestly, there's nothing more blissful in the summer than spending a nice day at the beach, rinsing off all the sand and gunk after and then sitting out in the porch with a cold drink while listening to hordes of frogs and cicadas with light shorts and a tee. It literally is a transcending experience that so few can fully appreciate, especially in our more varied climate!
  17. Rising thermostats, increasingly sticky buns, peepers getting louder by the day, the birds, bees and flora of all types coming to life..what’s not to like about this time of year?
  18. I look at it a mixed blessing. Gives my back an extra week or two to recover (if at all) and mentally I’ll be more energized when the sun and warmth we expect this time of year fully comes out of hibernation! For now we eat, rest and reminise over the days when the patriots were still relevant.
  19. Heavy pingers! Can’t remember the last time I heard sleet this intense coming down at this point in the season..wild stuff
  20. For now, we embrace the gloom, then sweat it off as the flies and mosquitoes emerge from muddy piles of doggy doo! A spring for the ages is in the books. The likes of which we’ve never seen before!
  21. More sleet today than we’ve had the entire winter..go figure!
  22. Beer and a couple huffs of the old peace pipe
