January 30th- Feb 1st ULL and coastal storm obs

Triangle folks it looks to be retreating pretty quickly. I think it’s about all she wrote. You Fuquay guys really did end up being the least in the state based on radar. I remember some of the hi res models having a literal hole in SW Wake or somewhere very close to it on many runs. Pretty incredible really. -
That’s not what this is about. It’s the fact that we were in the bullseye on every model for 3 straight days and less than 3 days out from go time, to end up with less than 99% of the entire state. I’m glad people all around are getting an incredible storm but when it flips like that last minute and you’re left out, it calls for this sort of reaction.

The “I bring the mojo” Jan 30-Feb 1 potential winter storm
AirNelson39 replied to lilj4425's topic in Southeastern States
He’s talking about the eastern edge of the ULL, it looks to have moved as far east as it’s going to. Any snow for most of Wake going forward will be from the coastal. -
All I can say is NWS RAH blew this one royally. I don’t know why they stuck to their guns when 24-36 hours of model runs showed this was going to be a screw zone with minimal accumulation. We all crossed our fingers and hoped they were seeing something we weren’t, but nope, they just straight up shit the bed.

A day I’ll never forget. -
I don’t care if the GFS is saying 30” the day before it starts. I’ll never use it again.

That’s just rubbing salt on the wound. No chance. -
At this point bring out the sun so we can get some vitamin D today. If we’re going to bust this bad, might as well get 0. While I’m complaining, the gfs should go in the trash and never be used again. Absolute garbage of a model.

I’m looking to book a sight seeing tour in Tampa so I have a better shot at seeing snow.

This powder will be gone in a couple days even with cold temps. -
I’ll probably delete my account and never look at another weather model again after this disaster. Might even move to south Florida so I don’t have to ever be teased with the word snow again.
