But Bretton Woods does get torched quite well during cutters, so that can certainly do a lot of damage; the Mount Washington Valley (Bartlett/Jackson/Conway) on the other side of the notch has a shorter snowcover season, but once it gets a good snowpack it's much less likely to get torched away.
