  1. 1. How long do you want winter/cold and snow?

    • Meteorologically: December 1 - February 28

    • Astronomically: December 21 - March 20 ish

    • Pretty big fan: November 1 - March 31

I've always been a fan of a late start and an early finish.... a mid-loaded winter starting a few days before the holidays ending Feb 1.   Of course that would be my custom order off the menu, if one existed.

 

This winter is a little different.  When I see a big potential on the horizon I have to root for it simply for record padding.   At this point I'm not so keen about keeping a snowcover either.   Just pad the numbers and move on.
