-14 today as the low point of the most anticipated cooldown in years. +14 on Sunday in a non-descript winter pre-frontal day.

Heh. Good point. 15 is a solid low tho sorta in the general area we might hit every winter... Parsing 1 to 2 degrees and calling it a once in 4 yr event is tricky. It's longevity will also be notable it seems.

We just went above freezing in Clarksburg (32.4F at 2:35pm) for the first time since 6pm on 21 Jan, 140 straight hours of sub-freezing obs. Not a bad cold snap but it certainly was not bitter cold. Here's the Hi/Lo's for the period:

22 Jan 2013

Hi: 24.1F (at midnight, daytime high was 16.1F)

Low: 11.8F

23 Jan 2013

Hi: 20.8F

Low: 8.9F

24 Jan 2013

Hi: 20.7F

Low: 12.6F

25 Jan 2013

Hi: 19.9F

Low: 12.9F

26 Jan 2013

Hi: 27.5F

Low: 14.1F

27 Jan 2013

Hi: 32.4F (so far at 2:30pm)
