Best site for hurricane Model maps

Recommended Posts

So far I have

http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/ewalltropatl.html

http://moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs/

http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/tc_pages/tc_home.html

http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/

These are some good sites, but I don't think they are that good at showing Tutts windshear and dry air.

A 200mb vorticity map would be helpful for Tutts.

On the ewall site shear is hard to asses when the cyclone is on the edge of an area of high shear.

high res TPW maps would be good for showing dry air.

Are there any sites that have these maps?

You can get 200 mb vorticity analyses on the CIMSS link you gave if you go here:

http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/windmain.php?&basin=atlantic&sat=wg8∏=vor1&zoom=&time=

Or 300 mb vorticity forecasts from the GFS on the FSU link you already gave.

The Albany dynamic tropopause link has been thrown around a few times recently, but once more can't hurt. Very useful for tracking tutts and/or mid-latitude intrusions into the tropics:

Don't forget satellite loops from:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/trop-atl.html

TPW:

Cyclone phase space:
