Yeah it was 42 here at 4 am (48 @ midnight) and when the winds went calm, boom! Right around sunrise ~7:15, I bottomed out. Temp is moving up pretty quickly now. Up to 43. DPs have been in the upper 20s/low 30s so the air mass means business!
Back down to 43F here now, temp. is falling fast. Prolly a frost here tomorrow morning...

Turned out to be a really nice day yesterday. Low was 44 and high was 61 and breezy. Light breezes kept up much of the night but then it went calm just after 4:30am and the temp bottomed out at 37, which makes me wonder what it will do Sunday night if we get similar radiational cooling. Currently 40 and partly cloudy.
Yeah I saw it was 43 at 4 am and it dropped to 37 here too. 38 currently, hopefully lot's of sun again today, although it's partly cloudy at best right now.

Long range ECM and CFS have us returning to a ridge after early November. Two and a half week cool blip then an indian summer to remember?
The next 3 weeks should take some the excess heat out of the Great Lakes at least.

Yes me too! Am trying to get some of my potted citrus plants sprayed with some horticultural oil before I bring them in for winter and it has literally rained almost every day since the 8th except yesterday. The temp has slowly crept up to the current 66 and it's overcast.
Back to 64F here. Could be an interesting frontal passage here later on, at the least some gusty winds it appears.

The rest of the week doesn't look bad till the weekend possibly.
If you believe Accu-Weather long range..,,Christmas week doesn't look too bad, seasonal....no 60s +.

They need to jazz it up a little, throw some snow in there the week before Christmas, right?

I wish Fall would just arrive and stay. Temps in the 50s...breezy and crisp. We are so "up and down" these days....
Personally I'd like about 3 or 4 dry and sunny days in a row to go along with that. Thanks in advance!

But the winter will probably be bone dry....lol
I sure hope not, lol. It looks like frost blanket time Thursday and Sunday nights.

Man oh manichevitz (sp?) - just saw a lightning bug, lol. Persistent bugger! 65F here, the high for the day.
-
58F here with light rain - feels warm out, lol.
-
42F was the low here...just had a light shower, kind of interrupted my dirt raking...it's damp here even when it's dry.
-
46F now. Brrrr, lol.

That back edge turned into a nice arced shape as Michael is pulling away. Wound up with 0.71" for the overnight rain, 0.96" total since yesterday morning. Nice and breezy out here now, temp. is down to 61F. Let the fall weather begin!

That cold front is relentless, heavy returns on the radar trying to push in from the south and SSE, but the front appears to be winning...

Thunder lightning and raining an assorted variety of small mammals here
Just getting into some good steady rain here, smells great. A little breezy once in a while now too. 73F (of course!).

Just hit 72F...my low for the day! Maybe a mini-Floyd for SNJ and Del? How far west of I-95 to the heavier rains extend? Looks like an interesting night ahead.
Agreed - been watching Michael to the south and the cold front crossing PA. Seems like most of the action will be across the river but the radar is interesting. Got 0.25" this morning.

I was just looking at it and yeah, some cool looking clouds moving along from SW to NE.

Been sitting at 73F since midnight...nailed it!
Congrats! Low here was 70F, 73 currently.

This sure has been a drizzly dry spell - three out of the last four days here.
Eta: no complaints here due to trying to grow new grass!

Still seeing one or two lightning bugs most nights, including tonight. First time in October for me. And the katydids are still going strong. Says something about how warm it's been overall. About to change in a few days it would appear.

Yeah, I don't think anyone has demonstrated an actual correlation between Oct snows and crappy winters, but it sure seems to work out that way. In fact, I don't think we want accumulating snow before Thanksgiving. The only time I recall that ever working in our favor was Nov '95.
My other rule of thumb is I like a wet fall. I was nervous last year because of how dry in got, but we did end up doing okay (even though winter took a break during the heart of the season).
I agree, why use up a good pattern in Oct. and Nov.? It so often leads to minimal snow for Dec. - Feb. that I'd just rather not have early snow. One thing this fall is that the critters are eating like there's no tomorrow, fwiw.

Got 0.23" of rain and a rumble of thunder with that pre-frontal trough.

Got 0.60" last night, a bit of a surprise, but slept through it..

Made it to 35F here, 36F currently. Some ice on the windshield and some frost on the grass, so first frost is in the books. Not too bad out with no breeze to speak of.
