Wow the Philly area and surrounding burbs are going to bust high here. Down your way the NWS forecasted <1" I believe.
Yeah, my point and click said an inch or less. I don't mind, lol. Just measured 2.6". It's hard to see, but in this pic there is the beginnings of a November snow pile . Leaves included!

Yep what you're pointing at is heavy snow (love that phrase). Temperature is now 29.3, DP up to 25. Over 1.5" here. Put a bunch of summer tools away yesterday and neglected to get out the snow shovels, which I just did :-). Roads must be getting icy, cars are lined up going down the hill on our street.

Just started! Decent size flakes. Due to the gusty winds, blowing somewhat sideways....way cool!
Yeah man! It's settled into a nice moderate plus snow here now, finer flakes, mid winterish style. Still 29.8F.

It is great to be back here with all you weenies. Hard to believe we have something on the 15th! Just started here in Abington PA a few minutes ago. Unbelievably they are already closing all the schools @ 1230 today. Am I missing something in the last few hours?
Welcome back! Aside from the fact that it makes sense to close early given the forecast, I was going to say that people don't have their "snow legs" yet....those first snows tend to really wreak havoc on the roads, then it gets better for successive snows.

Had some sleet mix in here for a bit, helped to whiten up the driveway, mainly snow now. Not quite half an inch so far, temp. is down to 29.8, DP still 22F
-
Moderate snow now, temp. has dropped from 32.1F to 30.7F since it began. DP 22F.

If If anything, wind has picked up a bit in the last hour.
No snow yet...
Earlier a couple of times the wind picked up (before it started snowing) and I thought I heard sleet, but was leaves rustling in the trees that still have some, lol.

I’m actually in State College but reports back home is it’s still just light snow. I’m guessing the yellows are where sleet is mixing in.
Ok, thanks. Just got under the edge of the yellows here and so far it's still all snow, larger flakes now and verging on moderate. Getting a dusting on mulch and cars.

Snow has started in N Wilmington
You must be under those yellows - how is it? Here it's a light steady snow under the greens.

Anyone in S Jersey or Delaware seeing snow yet or is that Virga? Seems pretty early though that usually the case in these events/
It hit a wall about 10 miles SW of here, but it appears to be advancing now. I'm not too far from the DE/PA border at the top of that arc.

32F here currently, DP 21F. Got the snowflake detector resolution set to maximum, nothing yet though. Slowly moving this way.....

In a WaWa parking lot drinking coffee/mooching WIFI. Truck comes in and drops 3" (exag, but quite a bit) of salt...my poor car if everyone does the same.
30F / DP 19F
Same temp. and DP here, with a breeze out of the NE. Feels like snow!

Tomorrow morning we are, and finishing up putting the last few spreaders on
.Good luck! For me that means it's plowable, for up your way at least.

Getting really interesting real fast for up here
.Curious if you guys put the plows on today?

Fwiw going back to last winter and the Euro's inconsistencies leading up to an event, it was usually pretty well dialed in by 24 hours before. Still probably at the high end though.
-
Meanwhile, got 2.3" of rain overnight and early this morning. 4.9" for November so far. Currently 46F and cloudy.

I am not giving up since 95% of snowstorms the last decade went cold to the coast and shellacked Monmouth County. Nope.
I mean you are there for the snow, afterall!
