Returns over and south of MVY are quickly becoming intense, 35 DBZ right now. That will likely turn into a super band and drag the cold air to the surface over the Cape, and the Vineyard, the exception might be ACK.
Just noticed. A few puffs of wind shaking the spruces by the road. Other than those puffs, there's little to no wind.

It’s a coastal SNE pattern right now. Hopefully they manage to turn this liquid into snow this time. LOL
This winter has been a bummer for me so far, hopefully today that changes.

Been pretty warm since the sun rose, we were down near 28F before 6am and then it warmed quickly to a high of 41F and now we are down to 38F
Steel gray skies. You can feel something is coming.

Rain here at 43 degrees. I feel like it's going to kick over at some point. Wind still east.

There was a storm in February of '92 that gave the Cape/immediate south shore a good thumping as the low retrograded from Nova Scotia. Vaguely remember it (I was three years old.) That winter ('91/'92) was abysmal.

My power flicked a couple of times. The wind ramped up and by 10:30 it died completely.
Next event please.

We had a similar one last year too in late October. There were gusts 80-90 on the coast south of Boston. I think Logan gusted to over 60kts too. Lots of tree damage.
That storm was probably the third one that I can remember where the wind didn't moan, it shrieked.

Does this share any commonality with that big October wind event a few years back? That was the last time I lost power from wind. Although if I remember that one featured a quasi tropical mesolow that smoked the Cape.
Are you describing the remnants of Phillipe from 2017? We had gusts close to 100mph with that.

Old Man Winter has opened the taps. Roofs are covered. The parking lot is covering up. Can't see down the road.
