Hrrr locked in with ~4” tonight. Should be ripping for a few hours. Hope to get some TSSN. It’s been since 2/20/14 that I’ve had TSSN imby, though I did experience TSSN with a couple visible CG’s in a snow squall in Macomb county in Feb 2017.

Just got back from the bank after depositing that NAM run. Compact low along a tight baroclinic zone with crazy FGEN. Rips in Detroit after a solid 3-5” tomorrow. This is our pattern.

It's very frustrating! Im annoyed that weve missed out on what the western part of the sub has had in January, mainly the past week. The ridiculous talk around Christmas about seasonal futility for Chicago, when literally 4 months of snow potential remained, kinda pisses me off because it was stupid talk then & salt in the wound now. Season total here is 19.8" but only 6.0" of it came in January (all nickels and dimes) and while the last week it has looked like Winter it has not been much. December was a far better month. There is certainly lots of potential in February so I won't say anything else now but if this keeps up in February I will be ranting more.
I always find it interesting how much variability can exist over small distances. I have almost twice as much snow this month compared to you and DTW. That one clipper really helped out a week ago and made our depth better. Now if these next few systems don’t work out I’ll be taking up permanent residence in the banter thread. Some members who know me off the board already know I’m on thin ice from going full meltdown mode over this winter. Another string of failures will be the push.

Hoping the next one works out more favorably haha. This one has had some decent blowing snow at times this morning. Just missing the big dog totals

As frustrating as it has been getting largely missed by the last two storms and having a mostly dead first half of January, it at least feels like winter now. Monthly total is up to 11.7” and we have had a consistent 2-4” depth for the past week. Ready for a better February. Season total is some how 22.5”, as we have gotten a lot of 1-3.5” snowfalls.

Picked up 1.3” on the board before snow shut off. Should be it for a while. May get some minor accumulations tomorrow from the storm as the northern edge of snow wraps back in. As expected, dry air won out here.

Gonna suck watching this one slide SW after watching the last storm slide just to the north. Storm on the 5th a guaranteed miss. Just brutal lol

Finally snowing again. Hoping to get to 3” total at this point.
Nope. Defo zone really hit the bed and managed just half an inch. Likely done with snow. Total looks to be 2.3”, so we did get more on Sunday with that little wave than the main “storm”

Lol, Those were all 18 hr dusters to get 3 inches. Congrats to us. You cant count those as actual snowstorms. Those events prob didnt even have a dry slot. Come on josh. Just for once admit east of the glacier ridge sucks for snowstorms. Enjoy your snow y'all. Send pics to remind josh what a real 6 inch snow looks like.
Heck some of them were 24-36hr+ duration storms. Somehow doing okay here for seasonal snowfall but it’s been one turd after another to get to this point. Haven’t had a winter without at least one 6”+ storm since 11-12, gotta break that streak at some point

Measured 0.9 almost an hour ago, probably at 1.5 or so now. At work at the City of Royal Oak doing snow removal so won’t know for sure for a while. Waving to the snow as it flies north. Dry slot stanks

“We`re likely looking at a quarter to half inch per hour type snow west of US-131. Over the course of a couple of days, it`ll add up to close to a foot in some locations, perhaps more in others. As is usually the case with lake effect, substantially less snow...4 to 6 inches...is expected east of US-131 through the weekend.”

Looks like I gotta go to the up north house this weekend. Family has a beautiful place on the Pere Marquette between Ludington and Baldwin. Should b buried.
