1.5" now in Silver Spring, MD. Really have not had sustained moderate snow yet. Just light snow with the occasional burst.

I don't even care to brave the cold to measure it, but it was enough to cover everything white again and smooth out all the rough spots from the kids playing. Beautiful morning.

Yep that's their 3rd and final built-in snow day.

MoCo just closed.

Honestly I'm expecting a lot to concede and close. Our neighborhood inside the beltway in MoCo is still completely unplowed and if MoCo has to decide based on the entire county.... I can see them deciding it is unsafe.

Every time I look at the radar I think I must be one frame away from snow reaching the ground. Dying for the first flakes in Silver Spring / Four Corners.

At least most of the school districts have backed off the "we will have virtual instruction on snow days" plans from 2021-2022.

So refreshing to have 32 degrees - and it feels colder - the day before a big one. It absolutely reeks of winter today!

It's an awful headline from what should be a respectable source. It's not a forecast piece, it's a general purpose "what is an ice storm" article. The timing is rotten or needed a better headline.

29.5 mixed sleet and freezing rain in Silver Spring. There's enough ice on the sidewalks to be slightly slippery, but not too bad. It ain't a white Christmas but closest I've ever had.

I don't know how much fell, but there's 1/2” remaining on the deck here (Silver Spring inside Beltway). Everything looks more wet than snowy.

No stickage on exposed surfaces here in SS/20910. Honestly the snow is more of a flurry at this point though.

First flakes trying to mix in Silver Spring now. 36.5 deg.

Best snowflakes of the week right now. Not the best ever, but better than that sand from three days ago!

Ice is more of an issue today than Tuesday. I'm seeing 30.1 degrees on my outdoor weather station and the clouds are letting in enough sun that there's steady drippage from the roof line now. It's making some fantastic icicles but some nasty slicks on the driveway.

Right about 2" of new snow today in downtown Silver Spring and currently its very, very lightly snowing

It's a Friday, though. The critical workers will be onsite no matter what OPM says and the less critical will choose to telework.

I'm just not sure how big the Venn diagram is of OPM-covered employees who would stay home on a Code Red but will drive in on a liberal leave Friday.
