It got to 41 some time between 10:55 and 11:55. So, the expected high was met by late morning. Of course, I am hoping the thin cloud layer overhead will limit additional warming as well as solar melting.

SYR and BUF always have the least extreme departure from normal when it comes to being below normal. Either their sensors have been placed in warmer places or they're just facing a warmer climate.

Winter barely even started so I can't even say it's over. Until we can get the raging fast flow to slow down, winters are going to suck. GFS is yawnirific through almost the end of the month. November for months...one month of winter...back to November until April/May. Then sizzling 90 degree summers through October. We're stuck in this repeat cycle for some reason.

Another wasted winter. Time for a move to the Keewenaw Peninsula since this area is now Western Virginia.

Just checked the updated NWS forecast...next 4 days around 40/lower 40s with chance of rain showers...then cold, dry and 20. Just shoot me.

I'm still trying to figure out how Syracuse actually gets to its average of 120 to 130 inches. I have yet to see a track or pattern than produces anything good here. I guess the only times we succeed are when the Low sits over the North Atlantic to give us lake enhanced synoptics...or when I move.

It's been snowing beautifully here for the past hour. Big, white fluffers with a fresh half inch topper to rewhiten the dirty layer on top of the snow.

I wasn't saying I expect it to be the same because of similar conditions. I'm just saying that I'm struggling with thinking this winter is over as of early February (because it's sucked) when in reality some winters haven't started til early February (which is pathetic in itself).

Last winter didn't even really start until around this time, so I keep thinking there's hope for this winter. But, I'm so skeptical just because of how the tracks have set up and the faaaaaast flow.

I'm telling you...WORTH almost always has the most snow on the northernchateau cams...that place is a hidden secret.

I'm looking at either trying to get closer to Fulton (maaaybe Parish) or Lafayette/Tully/Pompey/Cazenovia areas (higher up in elevation). Not sure though...several different factors involved with regards to work/where my wife works near Hiawatha Blvd., etc in Syracuse.

It got down to 21 last night, but as soon as a breeze kicked in, especially from the furnace south, it jumped up 10 degrees. Speaking of which...up to mid 30s now. "rolls eyes"
