  1. Cold out there. Hovering around 33f and clouds are starting to increase.
  2. I know. I guess it is an easy trap to fall into especially when the weather is benign. The way I see it, is all you can really do is look at the pattern at 500mb to see how things might potentially line up. Any analysis at the surface beyond 96 hours starts to get pointless.
  3. Frustration and anger likely i know, but I may stay up for the euro tonight... It will be good to get the first brutal disappointment (the feeling of "why the heck did i just stay up for that?") of the season out of the way....ha ha!!
  4. Yes, that is exactly where we are sitting, trend north required! Very odd Miller B track though.. I suspect it will change (stating the obvious here, I know) Honestly, if we start seeing suppression and confluence become a major issue again this year, due to a -NAO on steroids, I am going to lose the plot.
  5. I got down to 21 last night, coldest night of the season so far. I am guessing we are a shade warmer tonight, and then onto some milder weather for the next few days.. I hope we get some backend snow as the front passes through late wednesday night, but timing will need to be perfect, and we don't normally get the timing right, especially this early in the season.
  6. Happy thanksgiving guys!! Here's to wishing for some sleet tomorrow night! 34 here. Coldest night of the season so far tonight?
  7. LOL at the 12Z Euro. Very progressive. Quick, but intense cold short after thanksgiving, but bone dry, then quickly moderating as we go into the week of the 29th.. Definitely not good to see, but that is 10 days out.. Wish I had access to the ensembles, the operational run is just a tease!
  8. Heavy frost this morning... 28F for the low. Still not sure what to make of the up and coming pattern.. Definitely looks cold, but not mega cold. The period after thanksgiving still looks quite interesting in terms of an overrunning event or clipper type system if the shortwaves are there.
  9. Yes, this woke me up... Quite a prolonged set of high winds... I was wondering what was going on because there wasn't any thunder/lightning until the winds subsided. Quite impressive winds though.
  10. That sucks.. I appear to be able to get through via my work computer. Not that it matters too much as i typically work from home and have my personal computer up and running in the study. 12Z Euro looks very interesting if you extrapolate beyond 240 hours... I like the look of the pattern - Ridging in the west developing, very low heights dropping into the upper midwest, NAO becoming west based...
  11. Yes, haven't seen her on here yet... hopefully she figures out our new home. I have almost all the trees drop their leaves now, so I am going to get out there tomorrow and rake up the remaining leaves and clean things up.
  12. Good to see you made it here Rick! 40 down here now in the valley.. Radiating well here.
  13. Hopefully stuff like Yahoo Answers will help (that's how I found this board). It is a shame that Marcus can't just simply put a link to this board on the EasternUSWX board message, so anybody wondering what the heck is going on, can simply just follow a link to here. I am sure once things calm down, he probably will.
  14. Hey guys. I am here. Glad i found the new board. I didn't have a clue what was going on.
